Well guys I have sad news..... The 80 is dead. My daughter was driving it and was hit on the passenger side. She is ok, no injuries other than some small cuts from the broken glass. So all in all I'm thankful that it wasn't worse, because we all know what could happen.
As for the 80, well.... I will let you see for yourself...
So it appears that the 80 died a noble death valiantly protecting my daughter. So pour one out for a fallen soldier
I went and saw the 80 for myself today. All I can say is #_+_(_)#+_7_+$;_!!!!!! It got hit HARD. More pictures
You can see how much the body was moved in, the passenger seat has moved inward. The important thing is that my daughter is ok. I'm really glad she was in the 80. It took a beating to save her from harm.

It was officially determined that my daughter was not at fault for the accident. The other guy ran the red light and had no insurance.
And now for the great news. Because I had full coverage insurance on the cruiser I received a settlement check of $9,250! And the money is already in the bank account. So if you are looking for investment opportunities I suggest you get 30 year old Toyotas. Lol

We should share beer stories over a camp fire someday.
My oldest daughter (mostly raised by her mom) wrecked 5 (12345 FIVE (the Count anyone?)) before she was out of college. I didn't know about 2 of them. And once whilst a senior in HS, four of 'em came to cruces for a concert. I told her that they should come stay at the house. They went back anyway. Fell asleep on highway, spun in median and were headed back west. Don't tell me there aint no guardian angels. I did NOT know about that one until she was 30.

I changed my m
power brake booster and master cylinder this weekend. Just looking for better stopping performance. It seemed to help. After adjusting the rear brakes to gain more pedal feel it all helped!
I also changed my spark plugs to the new Denso Iridium plugs looking for better performance and a ton better gas mileage. In the process I also learned out my AFM and bumped up the timing to 15 degrees. Initial thoughts are that in on the right track. Truck is back to a race car again and now I can stop as well, ( always important...)
My last few tanks of fuel have been around 170 miles per tank. Which put me a a terrible 10 mpg. I used to get 250-280 per tank. So I trying to get back to that or at least close. Here's hoping, I will keep you posted

i was going to say check valve lash, but that was my issue in my 22re, forgot you have the 6, might be worth checking still
What has happened on your mileage over the last month?
Well I had a few unknown vacuum leaks that I didn't know about so terrible!! I have Fixed them all..... I think.... So I should have a good estimate on fuel mileage shortly. The truck seems happiest at 12 degrees of timing. I also adjusted the fuel wheel inside the Supra AFM 2 clicks leaner than it was. I will let you know when I know. I'm on vacation this week so I probably won't be driving much.
Short bus bobbed bed life and home construction projects don't always go together... But I will make it happen.
If you notice carefully at the body lines on the corner of the bed they no longer match up. The bed rails are rusting away and the bed has dropped on the driver side. I figured it was going to happen. Just wished it wasn't so soon.
I guess I will start planning on a flatbed build this spring. I already have a few ideas.
