i dont plan on doing any high speed runs so the extra 2 grand for TC isnt worth it. i just want the travel for the trails i do. hope the move goes well. its not too much of a big move.. got a dealer lined up yet?

long time no update. the truck developed a new misfire, that at this point has it only running on 2,3, and 4. no 1st cylinder. replaced spark plug. tested spark plug wire resistance. verified spark. tested compressions.. 165 all 4. adjusted timing. adjusted valves.

nothing.

seems like the signs point to an injector failing..

I just ordered a set off LCE. the truck has 300k on it and I don't think the rebuild included injectors.. which was 50k ago.. (before I got it) so I've been meaning to get them flow matched anyway.

Run it for a bit and pull the #1 plug and see if you can smell gas

Hey man.... long time no talkage! lol.

First, Merry Christmas!

Secondly... Yeah, the beginning of my build thread had a similar but not exact issue. Fired up the new motor.... nothing in #2. Some debris has flowed right into #2 upon first fire up, so I had to break it down and brought it in to RC Injectors(very reputable place here in Torrance).... They hooked it up in front of me and PLUEY, a wad of black crap came flying out of the #2 injector and then it fired away at 98% same as new performance.

Not sure if you needed em from LC, but hey, it can't hurt.... good investment and they have a good guarantee/service.

Best wishes man!

Well the thing is, I'm usually the kind of guy who likes to get everything new oem if possible. But Toyota gave me their wholesale price and that was still 145 for one injectors. Then I looked up lce and they offered 4 for 199. So i went with it.

I too like you want to go OEM parts when ever possible, but not always practical, my PS high pressure line busted and dealer price for new hose was $338 for it and my mouth just dropped and parts counter guy called up NAPA for me and they have one available and went there and ordered one of there HP hose for $39 bucks, HUGE difference!!!!

ahha after i drove back to san diego my truck started spraying gas everywhere.. pinched an injector o-ring. -_- i had a feeling thats what it was going to be, so that was a relief.

all is happy again.
