Well I have been a long time lurker, and since I have done a few things to my project 4x4, I thought it would be prudent to introduce myself and my rig.

Said rig is a 1989 4Runner SR5 V6... what I've done:

-Optima Red Top with custom box
-New battery cables
-New starter
-New KYB shocks on all corners
-New pads/rotors
-Longer rear shackles
-"hot wired" starter
-Painted crappy folding mirrors
-Removed rear bumper, wheel well moulding, and side moulding
-Painted grill flat black
-New Eagle Alloy 15x8 wheels
-THOROUGH cleaning... still doing it too...

TO DO:
-New plugs, wires, and cap
-Fuel filter
-Rear drums
-Transmission filter, fluid.. maybe solenoids... maybe sensors, not sure yet...
-Radio...
-New (to me) seats
-New rear springs and ball joint spacers
-Eventually... cheapo paint job either white or darkish grey.

To my amazement, a couple coats of wax have actually made a difference. Now to get those old ass stickers off and that moulding...

That's a great looking 1st gen. I'd keep the stickers!

 

Sadly it hasn't seen dirt yet, so I have no idea personally. Before they were on this runner they were on my buddy Josh's and he took them up the Rubicon... so they can make it up there...

Thanks for all the props! I am going to try to keep a better photo journal with this car. I will hopefully post a pic or two after everything I add or fix.

 

Well anyway, the 4runner looks good.
