ajstoy 1986 pickup
well, still new here, but I will do my best to get this all right..
to start off, ill say that my pickup is the first that Ive had, and always wanted one. ive got one of the biggest fj cruisers out there, aprox 9" of lift, sitting on a set of 37's, and still have the ifs suspension. so, im a little used to having a visibility advantage..lol
I purchased my 86 Toyota with only 184,000 miles on it, of which only 30k are on a new engine. the truck was originally a turbo, but that engine and turbo had been removed, unfortunately.
the truck is a 5speed, and does have a 22r engine in it. it is a regular cab, with solid back glass, man windows and locks, and is in great shape.
I loved the truck from the getgo, but the height, or lack of, was getting me down.(no pun intended). it was just a plain red truck, top to bottom, so since I figured there were more like it, I shot the bottom portion with spray bed liner from good ole walmart..
after that, I had the stock front bumper replaced with a trail gear bumper. I also added trail gear sliders to protect the bottom as well as from door dings.
after that, I added a skyjacker 4" lift, comfort ride leafsprings, and their m95 shocks. that made it feel a little better on and off road.
I went ahead and replaced the original tires that were on there, with a set of mickey Thompson 33x12.5's, a set of spidertrax spacers, and bushwacker fender flares.
so, for now, this is where im at!
