99 Jeep Killa's 94 Truck Build
Hey guys. This is my first build-up and since I am in the process of finding a hous, this will be a slow moving thread. I sold my lifted 99 4Runner 285/75 and picked up this 94 P/U on 05/12/2012 from an older gentleman in pretty good shape, but it had a "uaf" topper on it. I am planning on building it for wheeling only. Truck was a 1 owner with 160,000 original miles and has the 22re. I will start by wheeling IFS with a mild lift until it breaks, then will do a solid axle swap. in the future. Will be posting pics soon, once I figure it out.

James-it is the 22re just mistyped and forgot the e.
I have read about no lift with bigger tires on these, however I am not too sure I want to crank up the torsion bars.
I purchased a 2" lift from toytec with bj spacers and an aal. not sure how long this will last but I did not want to spend the money on an expensive IFS lift because I eventually want to sas it. I am also debating what size tires to run. 33x10.5 or 12.5 or to go to a 35. I am also looking at bobbing the bed and some minor trimming depending on the tire size I choose to run. Any advice would be appreciated here. Also looking at tacoma wheels 16" to upgrade brakes so this may change the tire sizes slightly.
The shell was "uaf" and was removed and cut into pieces, it looked terrible, faded red fiberglass =pink =ugly.

If I were you, I would just run it stock until it breaks. The IFS lift and slightly larger tires are just a waste of time, energy, and money if you have future plans of an SAS and even bigger tires...if that makes any sense to you

Well after listening to my annoying stock blown speakers, I finally got around to replacing them with 4" Quinn acoustics. sounds awesome for 2 4" speakers. Also added a tool box. will have pics soon. Will be installing lift kit next week it is a 2" bj spacer and an aal. debating on going 35s with trimming or 33x10.5. Also debating on bobbing the bed, anybody seen any GOOD writeups on here?

Nice truck, like my baby but red. Hehe. Love how bobbed beds look, so I'm excited to see you take that on. There are a few buildups with bobbed beds, just look around a bit, not really sure on super good writeups though.

Bobbing the bed is a must for offroad. I used to hit my low hanging stock bumper on everything, So much better clearance with the bob.
Heres a pretty good write up, there are also more in the Fab Shop section on here:

Im also one of those guys running 35s with out a lift, it takes a bit of metal messaging but its possible.

Tool Box and Decals gone
This weekend I went to find a tool box which led me to a better built box. I finally got the decals off as they were slowly chipping away and most of the glue removed. I paintednthe rims black on day 3 of owning it, as the PO had spray painted them silver and it looked terrible. Also had to wax it to see what the paint really looked like. Changed the oil. While cleaning out my cab I found a sticker from grease monkey dated 07112004 and 160382 miles. It currently has 161000 miles I bought it with 160475 miles. Truck has not been driven a whole lot in 8 years i.e. aproximately 3093 miles in 8 years.Looks like it was garaged for awhile after all.

Well bought some new rims today. Went with 16s after a long debate, but being that I have always wanted this stock toyota wheel, wtf why not put it on this, not to mention I have seen several jeeps with the same wheels I have on it now. Best craigslist find with any car I have had so far. Now the debate is to leave them silver or pant them black. Will have pics soon.

I really like your old rims painted black. Looks pretty nice with the truck, that's just my opinion though.
And I love bobbed beds, I'd bob mine if it wasn't a DD right now. =P
Get some more pictures up! =]

And the wheels are factory
THE BEST FACTORY RIMS EVER IMO. WHEEL SPACER WILL BE COMING SOON TO FIX THE FRONT, ANYONE HAVE ANY RECCOMENDATIONS AS FOR SIZE, NOT ONLY TO CLEAR THE HUB BUT TO HELP CLEAR LARGER TIRES AND KEEP THE FROM RUBBING DUE TO THE LARGE BACKSPACING I WAS THINKING 2".TO BIG?....

Quick releases for doors
Needed:
Angle grinder with cutoff wheel
4 2 1/4" x 5/16" clevis pins
4 locking pins to secure clevis pins your preference for style of pins
hammer
chizzle
beer
copenhagen straight
TOTAL COST ABOUT $15 WITH THE COPENHAGEN, ALREADY HAD THE BEER!
mental notes do not damage the bushings on the hinges in picture 2
label the hinges with which side it is off of and arrows, I used which direction goes up found this to be easiest.
Step 1: Take a fatty
step 2: Crack a brew
step 3: Pretty self explanitory
thanks to whoever posted their video on you tube on how to do this it makes a simple project even easier.
Sorry i dont have more pics it started to rain and had to hurry to put doors on. Will have pics of finished product soon.

Truck and Jeep Fest
Truck and jeep fest in colorado led my build to a new direction.
2 inch lift 35 inch pro comp mud terrains, and a smittybilt security center console for jeeps with 4runner buckets. Tires will be on my old 15x8 american racing rims. Built a wooden template to mount console to in order to fit my truck floor. On vacation so will have it done this week. Then save for some 5.29's and armor. This truck is not my dd so will sit for awhile. Just curious, how gutless are 35s with stock gears, is it even driveable?
