94 4runner 300,000 redo
well did not take as many pics as I should have . I had nothing better to do as my son did most of work as I had by-pass surgery just when the project began.
I bought the car new and put 300,000 miles on it only real problem was at 170,000 head gasket went . At 300,000 my state inspection was ready to expire the tires were about bald it had an exhaust leak at crossover pipe, oil leaks ,power steering leak, needed idler arm and pitman arm ,both rear wheel wells rotted out and the final nail in the coffin was the check engine light came on. I parked it and was going to junk it. I had made the offer to my son I would fund the project if he wanted to redo it. he said he would help me and I told him I would help him. My son is 16, I know he has seen me do this on many other vehicles so he knew what was in store .
His idea was to rebuild motor and lift it and that is what he did after welding new metal in the rear.
right now it is almost a new 4runner . I think he did a great job for his first car redo as long as its a hobby and not his job that will be great.
here are some pictures

I rolled my own panels my son welded them in and skimmed them with plastic. no all pictures are when work was already in primer. At that point I would go in shop and sit watch and act like I was being listened to as I let my chest heal I could not lift over 10 pounds. Terrible photographer always forgot to take camera to shop
