1987 Toyota PU 4x4 Clutch Pedal Issue
I just joined site today after utilizing it for the past year in my restoration project. I hope I am using this thread correctly. I searched this and other sites for an answer as to why, after installing all new clutch components (OEM and LCE), the master clutch cylinder's plunger is adjusted as far as it can and the pedal must be fully depressed to disengage. I was assured by my independent Toyota mechanic that the system was properly bled. There are no leaks in the system and the bracket is sound. My question: Do all manufactures of master clutch cylinders design the plungers at the same length. It would seem that a longer plunger would create a friction point higher of the floor board. Shifting into reverse can be an issue at times. The issue did not exist before the engine and transmission rebuild. Any thoughts?

welcome to yotatech! and, no, you put the thread in the wrong subforum; this is the builds forum, not the tech forum.
if you used oem, you should be able to get correct pedal adjustment. if unable to get the correct pedal travel and free-play, it’s possible the clutch is installed incorrectly. i have run into issues with the length of the clutch master; it may well matter whether the parts are for 4wd vs 2wd trucks, but i cannot remember the specific issue (whether the rod was the wrong length or whether the flange on the cylinder where it passes through the firewall was incorrect.
compare your new parts to your old parts to determine size issues.
