1986 4Runner
1986 bare bones 4Runner that I picked up this Tuesday as a new project. 22RE, IFS, 5-Speed Manual. The body is relatively rust free, although it has its share of bumps and bruises, and the frame is clean. Interior is toast, trim panels faded and dash has more cracks than Hillary's Makeup.
Truck was only hitting on cylinders #1 & #4 which turned out to be degraded injector clips where the ground wire was not making contact with the injector pins. After getting it to fire on all four it has some clattering in the head and smokes a bit so I am going to pull the old paperweight and stick a new gerbil under the hood.
Plan at this moment is;
Find a 22R-TE donor truck and swap the bones after a fresh rebuild on the engine. If I cannot find a swap truck for a reasonable amount I will throw a KB long block in it and try to live with the power it produced.
Replace all body and suspension bushings, balljoints and steering rack.
Replace shocks, blast and powdercoat wheels mount some good 31 x 10.5 tires.
Power wash underside and coat.
Strip interior, replace dash, replace interior carpet after putting in sound deadener, rhino line the rear cargo area and cut brushed aluminum panels to replace all interior trim.
Replace hood and right front fender due to serious dents, smooth all dents in remaining body and paint either matte black or back to Toyota Red without decals with a black top. Add bushwhacker fender flares, aluminum front bumper, aluminum rear bumper, aluminum roof rack
When that is done I am going to look into lockers, armor, etc and will most likely be guided by input from you guys as I am new to this and use your guidance. The vehicle will mainly be used as an around town scooting to and fro with a few long trips and occasional off-road use during hog hunts
Input on any and all is appreciated.
Here she is in all her Glory. Ugly and I love it

Red with black top, YES.
You have enough to keep you busy for a while. That back seat is from something else. It looks like you don't have seat hinges on it. Maybe you can get a donor.

Nervo,
Thank you. There is not much on this thing that has not been messed with one way or another so the backseat does not surprise me any. I figured it did not belong as it does not match anything.
Since this is going to be a hunting truck I may try to fab a couple of bucket seats of some type back there with a rack to hold rifles between them
