Paint your truck. All that primer is doing is SOAKING up moisture rusting your metal from the inside out this time.

Slider pipe looks too small. Use something larger OD.

Moved to build section.
appreciate the constructive criticism... but idk if im puttin the sliders on or not. it was about 10 mins of playin around. but them sliders are schedule 80. hard stuff. so they would probably do the job..

What size pipe? Anything under 1 1/2" pipe will be too small OD IMO and SCH 80 is overkill on weight.

Pipe is for poop, not sliders

idc. if i did finishem and putem on they probably wouldnt get much use. jus look kool. but when i got done with them. you should be able to jack the truck up by them. which is tough enough for me. and isnt the point to protect the body? id make sure they would be tough enough. no biggie.

can anybody tell me where i could get shocks cheap that might work with my possible 8 inches of lift from my springs. they are one off springs. and i wonder if a drive shaft out of an ext cab yota might be long enough??

Wish I could help you. On the driveshaft, I have did my work and then tow it to a driveshaft shop and they can get the correct measurements and build right there on the spot. Its actually a reasonable rate around here.

well ive decided im not gonna use the big lift i bought. its basically just too big. the springs have such a big arch i dont think theyll flex enough for the trails. so im probably gonna go with the chevy spring and ruf swap. it seems to be pretty simple. does anybody know how much lift exactly it gives you? could i run 35s?

Just checking in. Have any luck with the height you would gain on Chevy springs? I will try seeing what I can find in a few days. How is everything else going?

i havent been lookin much into it lately. ive been tryin to keep the truck goin at the moment. i had been havin some over heating issues over the last few weeks. but i think ive fixed that. after radiator thermostat and a couple of hoses. and had to get a tensioner pulley for the power steering. and a couple of hours ago i had to replace the clutch master cylinder. its just and old wore out truck. and its starting to show its abuse with a vengince. lol. so can someone answer me this. jus to make sure im correct. if i do the chevy/ruf swap. im goin to need 1988+ rear springs. and ill need another set of yota rear springs to add some leafs to the rear springs i already have to go up front. right?

alright good. im thinking for now. bc of budget reasons. i have a couple of ?s. could i make the drop bracket in the front. (like for the ruf swap) and run a longer rear shackle in the front spring (to keep the caster angle right). and compensate with blocks in the rear? this is just tempory but will give me a little lift.
