Anyway, can you some interior pics of your trucks?
Are you gonna keep the silver one or both? Were do you offroading? Artcraft, juando pass trail? jus curious

 

Well...the "Iron Eagle" doesn't have any interior. The silver one's interior is in pretty good shape.

I plan on keeping the silver one until the "Iron Eagle" is done. I will probably sell it to someone that wants to rebuild it.

In all honesty (flame suit on) I haven't been 4-wheeling in Las Cruces yet. The silver truck has been by first 4x4 in Las Cruces and when I bought it the 4-wheel drive didn't work. A buddy of mine fixed it a couple of weeks ago (the problem was 5.29 in the rear and 4.10 in the front, the idiot I bought it from didn't change the front gears also). It now has 5.29s in the front and rear. I haven't had time lately to go out but I will in the next couple of weeks.

I did do alot of 4 wheeling in Farmington, NM when I was in high school though

Wow. It has been a while. A little update for you guys.

This last semester has been freakin crazy but I now have a Masters degree in Business Administration. The bad part about that is that I have had 0 time to work on the "Iron Eagle".

Also the silver truck started running really crappy. My buddy and I thought it was a bad 4 clyninder valve (good compression on all cylinders but when the spark plug wire was pulled from clynider 4 it ran completely the same). So....I bought a new head for it and am almost done putting it back together. Hopefully that fixes it (plus it has a brand new timing belt).

I have decided to go with a 5vz. For one, it looks like a challenge, has decent power and if I need more I can always TRD supercharge it.

I am looking for motor mounts for it. I figured advance adapters would have some for the swap but I couldn't find any.

I almost have the whole body off of the frame. The emergency brake is giving me trouble. After that I am going to move the frame and axles to my garage so I can start cleaning and buliding

Since you renamed my title from "Iron Eagle Build" to "1985 Toyota 4Runner Build-Up" (don't know why you did that), can you please delete "4Runner" and replace with "Truck". I am not building a 4Runner and it is specified in my first post.

 

I am going to have to keep an eye on this one looks like its going to be fun. Sucks about your axle housing.
