seanmearse's 1984 Pickup Build-Up Thread

So, Some of you may or may not know of me, those of you who don't, I'm Sean. I aquired my 84 for a small amount of money. I traded my 1994 4Runner for 1500 bucks and an 87 pickup. The 87 was sold to Tiny yoda on here. Im a good guy, so I let him make payments. Now, on to my 84. I will try and put a description next to the pics I upload, If I forget, my bad.

Here is the day I picked her up

This is the second week I owned her, Day after I cammo'd her.

This one is after the 3 inch front springs. The ones that were on it were completely negative.

Here is the Mrs. putting on the driver shock. Idecided on Rancho 9000XL's

Flex pic when the springs were completed

This day sucked, broke the tie rod on a rock, middle of the mojave desert, in the summer time.

Just recently ditched the bull bar.

Upgraded to an internally regulated alternator.

When changing the valve cover gasket, I got a hankering to do some painting.

And here is how she sits as of today, with the free rack I just picked up today.

I will update as I go, but the process of getting to where I want it to be will be slow, have a few people to pay back first.

Thank you very much. Hopefully this thursday I can get the light tabs welded so I can get all the lights I have laying around on the truck.

So, and be honest. How does the rack look on the truck? Bear in mind, it is going to be be grated on top to hold the spare and other various items when we go wheeling, along with eventually getting lights all over it. So what do you guys and gals think?

I was just questioning it because a friend said "What, are you a construction worker now?" Just made me question the ultimate goal with it. I'm just hoping it doesnt end up TOO top heavy.

So, picked up some 99% tread 32's from a friend, for 40 bucks! And I took the rack off. Anyone looking for a rack? Its pretty heavy duty. Im just going to go a different route. Say, about, 120 bucks? Shipping is out of the question with it though, thing weighs at least 300 pounds. I also have 8 31's for sale. 4 goodyear mtr's, and 4 hercules all terrains. The goodyears have two at about 40% tread and two at 20%. I had two on the rear. 2 of the herc's are about 95% tread, and two are about 20%, 200 bucks for all 8. Once again, I cant ship. I might be able to meet halfway, depending on the day.

Well, how does she look with 32's? They fill out the wheel wells better, and I think the look better on these rims than the 31's.

Funny story behind that one... When the tie rod broke, we spent over a half hour looking for it after we got the parts. It blended in perfectly with the desert hillside. My little brother caught a glare off the windshield, and thats how we found it. Like I said before, the key to a good camo job, is to not be perfect.
