what brand front springs did you go with to match the chevy 63" rear?

I just ordered shackles from him for my 4Runner what a nice guy.

 

Looking good...I need to get going on my front end too everyone elses looks and is such better shape...Post up some updates when you get the chance..

Sorry I haven't updated lately. The axle all back together and waiting to be put on the truck. I plan on putting the axle back under the truck tomorrow once I mount the IFS box. I am not sure what brand the front springs are but they provide about 3" of lift. I just ran outside and snapped some pics of the axle.








I bought a few more parts from Ed at www.datinfab.com. The diff armor will be on soon as I forgot to order it when buying all the other gussets.

And I have the answer to your sig question...but it's not funny.

 

The axle is back on! There are still a few things that need to be done but at least it's back under the truck. If I get some time tomorrow I will bleed the brakes, steering and torque everything down so I can test it out. Here are some pics as it sits now.

 

Love this thread man. It's inspired me to go ahead and go through my front axle as well.

I was curious before I go ahead and start ordering the parts from the company you linked, did they give you any kind of discount for ordering basically the entire front end rebuild kit? I went to the link and noticed that, for instance, several of the gussets are sold individually. it'd be cool to get a bulk package with basically everything you ordered in one shot.

Reaaaaalllllly niced work. One question about the back end ... any worries about the angle of the rear drive shaft to axle coupling, ie the effect on the universal?
PS I wish I had your welding skills!

I don't know if I got a discount for ordering everything together but if you ask him I bet he would knock off a few bucks.

I doubt that the drive shaft angle will cause any issues. Those springs and shackles lifted it at most 4-5 inches. If I run into any problems I will post them up to let people know.

I haven't updated lately because there has been very little progress made on the truck. I am still waiting for my rear third member to come back from the shop. Once the third is back, I can break in the gears, put the new tires on and take it for a drive.
I decided that a bobbed bed will suit me as good or better than a flatbed so today I started to bob it. I still need to finish welding it up and then prep it for paint.
