I'm thinking about a rear winch and I wondering if I can use the frame as a ground or if I should run a dedicated ground from the battery? What do u guys think?

 

So I got side tracked today trying to get my truck ready for this weekend and installed my new lift. All cus I wanted to change one rear spring bushing. LOL It did make the bushing install fast and easy!


The picture makes it look low but I'm 5'6" and I can walk around under the truck without ducking.

 

So when and did some wheelin this weekend. Got out to browns camp, was nice to get out its only been 31 days (not like I'm counting. LOL) No real breakage just a wiped out o2 censer. Here some pictures for ya alls.

I know its been a but sense I posted I got a new tow rig and I have been setting that up, but I'm back working on my crawler so I will have something soon.

 

So I got my dash done in and wired. Also put my quick release steering wheel in. Some tg motor mounts. Got the defrost up and working. Here are some pictures.




A Lot of it is just temporary cus my buddy just got a cnc router so I'm going to let him play with it for a bit and then he's going to build me a new panel out of aluminum. Then he will engrave under each gauge and switch. I think it will be sweet when he gets done and of course I will post pictures when I get it!

 

I also moved my hids to the spot where the factory head light where. I had no use for the factory ones, and my truck is not street driven anymore. I like the way they came out.

 

Looks like you have a nice shop to work in. I like the lift too. Those flex pics are pretty sweet on that rock pile. And if your breaking stuff..your driving it and having fun doing it i hope. Sweet thread. I like that you do most of the work yourself!!

 

Did some work to my truck in the last few weeks just been to busy to post stuff so here u go. Redid my ft bump stops.

Welded my spring clamps closed cus they keep coming apart and fanning out my ft springs and I think thats going to brake a spring so put a stop to that.

I have had an issue with mine or friends and families feet slipping and getting stuck in my rock sliders. And it hurts like hell so I put a stop to that. 300 tack welds later....lol.....

 

Got my last wheelin trip in saturday My 4th and final kid is coming on the 10th of May so I cant be out of cell range for 6-8 weeks. Anyways I was going a bit crazy knowing it was the last trip for a bit. So I ended up putting her on the drivers side on can opener. No major damage and no one was hurt (My 6 year old was in the passenger seat! He thought it was scary but fun.) Only real damage is it pushed my cage in a touch and a small dent.

Good Idea on the sliders. I am in the process of building some that are similar and didnt even think about them being slippery.

 

Yea both of my boys where with me. (9 and 6) My older one was watching up top. My wife and I came up with the 2 year old rule, they have to to be 2 years or older to go because we want there neck strong enough to hold up to all the ruff stuff lol. On the sliders I spent almost all day cutting a fitting and tack welding them and stood back and after it was all done I came up with the idea of just putting a piece of 1/2 inch square tube down the middle and it would have took like 30 minutes. Live and learn and my way looks cool to lol.

 

Thats great!! My twins are about to turn 2 and Im in the process of talking the wife into letting me get them dirtbikes with training wheels this year. but she wants to wait till next year. Ill have to tell her about the strong necks. haha

So I have been gone for a while with the newest member of the family. She (Violet) was born on May 10th at 8:02 am.

 

I was able to sneak out to my shop when mommy and baby where sleeping and got my rear disk brake swap done.
I wanted to put the rotors behind the axle flange so some grinding was required.

I tried both front and rear wheel studs and they wouldn't work so I welded the rears to the back of the rotor.

Here it is all done up. I also had some custom braided steel lines made so when I have to pull a diff or wheel baring I don't have to bleed the brakes, and they just look cool! Should be good for like 5hp!

I also had them made for the fronts, I never liked the way they came from the top, a rock or tire could rip them out on the trail.

 

So I hate red so I finally got the rear of my runner rino lined. I used the stuff in the rattle can so we will see how it holds up. I spent way to much time preparing it so that might help.

 

Congrats on the little one. Very cute! Glad you had some time to work on your runner. I bet the bedliner holds up good, especially since you over prepped the area for it. I've seen herculiner last through some rough stuff because of good prep.

 

I was having problems with excessive brake pedal travel so I put a 2lb residual valve for the rear and it seams to be better now. I have a wheeling trip planned for fathers day so I will know better then.
