Here is the link to the page which contains the specs for the motor. The guys there, Jim and Jerry, are both class acts and are going way above and beyond to make this a special build. They have sourced piles of hard to find, NOS parts to keep the build authentic. They are simply the best!

Thanks so much! We are really plugging away at it so our hope is that it will be ready for the upcoming summer, fingers crossed. More pics to come after the upcoming weekend!

Here are a few pics of the truck and frame after soda blasting and priming. Lots of body work to do still but it is really shaping up at this point!

Please post pics instead of Facebook and Instagram links.

You might consider using a free hosting service like Photobucket.com it will allow you to copy and paste the [img] code into your posts.

I say this because you and your dad are obviously taking the time and money to restore both a piece of movie and Toyota history, take a few more minutes to document it, links are lazy IMO when it comes to something like this. Plus links die sometimes rendering a post dead.

A shot of the cab stripped down and of the front and rear axles near completion. I knew you folks would appreciate seeing some hardware!

Oh yeah, I understand! And thanks, they look even better now with the axles, hubs etc installed. Next week I will post a pic of the completed frame with the axles fully installed. Hopefully the motor will be done and installed in a few weeks!

Dang, I thought that my axles looked good... I'm so ashamed of myself now...

What did you use to paint them? That paint laid down really nice!

Yours look great too man, don't be ashamed lol!!! Ours were gutted, sand blasted and then sanded down with 80 grit. We laid down an Eastwood etching primer followed by two coats of Sherwin Williams P30a surfacer. The final coat is an Eastwood Ceramic Satin black. Purdy......

Same here. So awesome. You couldn't have been more correct about one truck turning a whole generation on to the mini truck. Its the most important reason I held out so long until I found the 85 ext cab I currently own. Keep the progress pictures flowing.

Thanks very much! I totally agree with you here. I was 18 and fresh out of high school in 1985 when BTTF hit the big screen. I was literally blown away at how cool that damn truck was (and is!). Ever since I have dreamed of owning one....never in my wildest dreams did I think I would own "this" one though lol! Will be updating in the next few weeks with lots of progress including the motor installation. Keep watching, thanks!
