Hitsua's 1985 Toyota 4runner

Figured I would finally start one of these. I am an IT Technician up at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort if any of you are familiar with the area. I have a hard time explaining to people that I am up here to go snow wheeling, not snowboard/ski whatever. I got a lot of snowmobiling in last season too but not so much this year.

Anyways, frame has 325,000 miles on it. Running a Trail Gear Rock Ripper intake & header, both of which are awesome. Replaced all vacuum lines, new electrical (minus the harness), new hoses, new 31" BFG A/Ts...

Rebuilt the front axle a few weeks ago...put a rebuilt w56a in about 2 months ago, rebuilt 22re longblock about a year ago.

I just ordered a full OME suspension kit from Rocky Road Outfitters few weeks back, still waiting on it. Comes with front and rear leafs, front and rear shocks, all bushings and misc parts, and steering stabilizer.

I also just got the sr5 inclinometer for $120 bucks off eBay, including mount. Been checking eBay weekly for the last few years and finally saw a good deal.

Here are some random pics:

My favorite pic of my truck so far:

29 year old motor mount vs. new one

Burned out ECU (partially). Eventually jumped the part of the board that was bad with wire.

Haha random video. I just towed my friend across a snowy parking lot at like 25mph so he could bump start his car, uphill. Good times.

Another picture, me and my friends looking like jackasses on a roadtrip out to South Dakota (from California). I'm in the white with the gun.

Before I had my truck, I used to mob my Honda Accord. This picture is 5 years old now, and recently I almost got the 4runner stuck in the same puddle

The Honda picture is hilarious!! Nice looking runner.

How long of a wait did they tell you on the OME springs?? I just went through an ordeal with them two weeks ago. No one has them in stock and ARB was getting a shipment from Australia but no springs were in the shipment. They said it could be 6months or more. Just giving you a heads up.

They said 2-3 weeks to get them from ARB, and then they would send them out.

EDIT: Just got my update:

I just checked with ARB on your order. They said that the springs are on back order and not expected to arrive in the US until 4/30.

All of the snow you are looking at fell today. Try and find the 4runner!

Alright well I ended up modifying my order, getting only a set of front/rear springs and bushings. Saved a lot of money not getting shocks. I think I am going to get some Blistens or something.

Anyways, the fronts + bushings came Wednesday, and then the rears on Saturday. Rocky Road is really rad, the rears weren't supposed to ship out until at least the 10th but they called ARB and got my order pushed ahead. Granted I have waited a few months, but it is totally worth.

I'll post pictures once I've got them installed.

That's great. I wish they would have given me a better time frame than they did. But this was months ago when no one had anything from OME.

They were put on at the dealership. I ended up having to rip them off though, unluckily, I left my keys in my car. Luckily, I left the window down just enough but I had to take those off.

Will be a little while before I make it out to South Dakota again. I was trying to this summer but plans fell through. We had stuck to Rapid City/Custer area but my buddy just moved to Madison so I figured we would hit up Sioux Falls.

Started doing the rears but was having trouble with the hang bolt on passenger side. Going to have to cut the bolt and find a replacement.

Nah, I took them off. They were an aftermarket plastic piece.

Originally he said vent visors, and that was what I was talking about...now I am confused. Finally got the rear springs on. Going to buy longer ubolts today though. I can't get the stock ones to fully thread on. I'll post a before/after later.
