I'm sure you can remove the bracket that mounts to the axle but then it needs tied up. If you just remove the bar all together the rear wheels won't do a thing. It needs to be in the upward most position for the rear to work harder. If you remove it all together you'll need to do a lot of splicing and T's in there.

I'm not saying it can't be done I don't think it will solve your issue. It may, I have not had one of those apart and I don't recall how many lines com out of it. I think it's 1 in 2 out...if it's 3 out it very well could be your issue.

1 to the rear then a splitter on the axle. Is there 1 going to the front and a T or does it have 2 going to the front?

Yeah, I don't think he meant ball joints.
I'm going to get under it this afternoon (if it stops raining) and measure it myself to either the bottom bolt of the knuckle or to the tire to at least get an idea of how off it is.

I know how night shift goes, I just woke up myself not too long ago.

Right, I would just unbolt it from the bracket and zip tie it up as high as it will go to the frame somewhere.
Should be interesting to see how it goes.

Thanks for the input, I will check to see how many lines go where and such.

I undid the LSPV bracket and tied it up to the exhaust bracket.
I didn't notice much of a difference.

I did lock the back tires up though, so they're working fine.

I did some practice stopping at abount 45mph and as long as I keep the wheel turned to the left about 90* I can stop straight.
But if I get caught off guard I'm hitting the curb - I really don't think I'll flip or roll, but I will definitely hit whatever is next to me.

I'm thinking about taking it to a different body shop and telling them the problem I am having and have them just start over - not tell them that it's already been jig'd once.
Can't hurt anything really, if they say it's still crooked then I'll take the printout they give me and go back to the other body shop and chew 'em out and see if I can get a refund or something.

I really don't think it's the frame...It's gotta be something in the front brakes. Are there 2 lines coming out of the LSPV and going to the front or just one going to the front?

He tried to explain it to me but I probably wouldn't do it justice explaining it on here - I'll try and find it on Google and post it up.

I haven't had a chance to trace them yet - I have been slammed with work and school.
Haven't even been on here in almost a month!

I'm going to try and find some time in the next week or so to get under there and trace the lines.
A buddy recommended one of the guys at Advance Auto where we get the patrol cars at the PD worked on so I may take it up there and see what he thinks.

It has to be something in the brakes.
I think I am also going to take it and get an alignment - I haven't had one done since I've owned it and maybe that will reveal some underlying issues.

I'm also thinking of selling the 35's and putting some 37's on it but that won't happen until I can get the pull squared away.

I agree on the 37's after you put the new springs on the 35's are looking little.

Don't know if this has been asked yet, but what kind of truck bed liner was used on the entire truck? Looking into my options. Awesome 4runner by the way!

I would highly recommend an alignment, also look at all the TRE's and lose the J arm steering ASAP.

Good luck and cool looking 4runner.

Just realized I never updated this thread.

I ended up selling it - my buddy Dave buys older cars, restores them and then sells them.
He's already done a TON of work on it, his mechanical knowledge is way beyond mine so this is perfect for him.

I am waiting for him to email me some pictures of it to see what all he's done - I'll post them up here when I get them.

Thanks for all the help you guys gave on this, I was able to do a lot to it...that darn pull was still there until the day I sold it though...

Sad you sold it! My 85 pickup pulls to the right sometimes. You got me interested in getting OME leafs and cutting my fenders to fit tires. I love the look.
