Picked up a Lockright locker for the 4runner today. Probably put it in the front axle.

I hope it'll look decent. The money I had saved for paint supplies got spent on a locker....

Probably an old syphon-feed gun with acrylic enamel, 3 coats with hardener, thin the top coat a little more to help the paint lay down slick.

Oh, and thanks! My 10 year old son said my truck looked "younger" when I picked him up from school the other day. lol

I'm getting a lot more use out of the 4runner. I loved the '81.... with at least 2 of our 4 kids with us all the time, the rear seat is used almost everyday.

You're off to a great start on yours! I've been looking at the Humvee take-offs too. Recentered H1's with 2-2.5" backspacing is what I really want.

Right on. Ive never used a siphon feed or acrylic enamel. When I was in school we used waterbourne and solventbourne systems. Its all the same concept though. I can't wait to see it done!

I traded my paint gun to my brother for some dirt bike parts years ago. Gotta buy a new one. Would love to try a nice gravity fed gun. I'm a cheap bastid though!

I got my gravity feed HVLP from Harbor Freight for like $40 a about 6 years ago, and as I look at their website right now they are currently on sale for $39.99. I know its no Iwata or DeVilbiss but it works.

Dig it! Good decision on stopping the body work. Get it too straight and you wont want to wheel it
