Probably an old syphon-feed gun with acrylic enamel, 3 coats with hardener, thin the top coat a little more to help the paint lay down slick.

You're off to a great start on yours! I've been looking at the Humvee take-offs too. Recentered H1's with 2-2.5" backspacing is what I really want.

Right on. Ive never used a siphon feed or acrylic enamel. When I was in school we used waterbourne and solventbourne systems. Its all the same concept though. I can't wait to see it done!

I traded my paint gun to my brother for some dirt bike parts years ago. Gotta buy a new one. Would love to try a nice gravity fed gun. I'm a cheap bastid though!

I got my gravity feed HVLP from Harbor Freight for like $40 a about 6 years ago, and as I look at their website right now they are currently on sale for $39.99. I know its no Iwata or DeVilbiss but it works.
