I got the new tps on and checked voltage. Came close to what it needed. Seems to work good. Just gotta fine tune the afm and I'll be set. Added some redline cooler to radiator to keep cooler in the hotter temps. Stuff works good. I want to change out the fan to an electric fan soon. Might get me a universal kit from summit for cheap and make it work. You can get them with temp sensors that come on auto and also have a manual fan switch to run longer or when vehicle is off if you want like I do on my trans am.

I need to swap battery to drivers side and make a short ram 90 deg intake and extend wires for afm longer to reach over there to clean it up and give better air flow to motor. My inlet to tb is a little kinked due to the body lift right no and the hard pipe presses down hard on the radiator hose.

I was having electrical issues, truck would bounce around in lower rpms.
I checked and did tests on plugs, wires, coil, igniter, pick up coil, the best I could with the ohm meter and what I could quickly find online. I wasn't getting spark in the wires. I found a igniter and coil and rotor from a celica gts in the junk yard. They kinda match but plugs are slightly off. Tried a good coil off our racecar, didn't work. Ended up being the rotor in the distributer. Works great now, just fine tuning the afm and i'm set. I can finally install the better accel coil now and soon the gm alternator I hope. Now I know why the accel coil wouldn't work. Also the wires on the coil were backward for some reason and it would work and run. I guess if rotor is going bad, swap neg and pos wires on coil and it works lol. It did for me until got a new rotor, put them back and works fine. I'm surprised the coil still works.

I have a cleaned up in good shape coil and igniter and pick up coil to sell if anyone is interested.

Crazy a little 4 dollar rotor was the problem and now it's back up running like a champ.

I'm trying to decide if I can get away with a narrow band a/f ratio gauge for adjusting my afm or if I would be better off getting the wideband.

Narrow band is 60 bucks, wide band is 150-200 bucks. Both not including shipping.

I am gonna get a vacuum gauge and one other gauge to fill my three pods on the dash but not sure which one yet.

I found this wideband for a good price I'm looking at getting.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/INNOVATE-379...#ht_500wt_1180

I like the glowshift idea knowing they all match for most part despite glowshift wideband being 199.00 but it comes with visible and audio warnings high and low and recall function for highest peak and you can change colors.

I would be nice to install a new fuel level gauge if it would be worth doing so. Not sure it hook it to stock setup or if can add a better level detector or what.

I'm gonna get a new water temp gauge to replace the one I have on the left of the steering console.
I think I will do oil temp, wide band, and vacuum (probably get a boost/vac gauge since I will be putting a turbo on soon) gauges in my 3-pod.
Maybe later on I can do a voltage gauge and fuel pressure gauge when I install a walbro 240 pump and maybe some bigger injectors to go with my bigger tb and afm and intake with some upgraded fuel lines with return line and fuel regulator.

I can tell a good difference in mid to higher speeds and rpm with my ported tb. It picks up better and quicker and smoother. I think I will port it some more as I did a mild port job on it. It doesn't take much time or work to do and will suffice until I can find me a good upgraded supra tb and afm. I ported and port matched my afm and the intake adapter pvc piece I have to allow a little more air in. Pretty good good gains for an hours worth of work on both. Now

I found a elbow about 90deg radius from the older celica gts they use for stock for when I swap my batter and intake. Paid a dollar from wrecking yard for it, saves me a few bucks from buying a silicone one and I know this one works and will last and durable too. Sometimes you can find decent stuff from wrecking yards to improve your project for very little.

I installed new black door handles on the inside and accidentally broke the clip that holds the rod to the handle on the passenger side. Now I have to try and find a new one or go back to the wrecking yard and pay another dollar to go in and hope i can find one so the rod wont fall out of the hole in the handle and be able to work correctly again.

I found a smaller black shift knob for trans to replace the bigger bulky brown one it had. Much easier to grip and shift now, happier about that.

The 22r/22re motors are popular, all the 4runners and pick ups motors were gone.

I'm gonna try to get a couple really good night pics of the hid off road lights to show how well they light up and the spread pattern of them. I use them as my driving lights until I find and install some open beam lights with hid's to replace my closed beam halogens I have right now.

Two new matching electric horns installed. Looks good behind the grill and pretty loud for cheaper electric ones. Works good enough for me for this rig. They are the Sickspeed brand. Pretty cool.

Pic of the used smaller shift knob I found for trans to replace the bigger bulkier brown one I had. I still have the brown one if anyone is interested. I can take and post a pic if someone wants it for cheap.

I decided to give the grill a fresh coat of black paint to gloss it up and make it look better as well as the hood latch assembly and the down bar that holds the latch bottom to the lower front frame. Much better I think.

I removed the middle console and painted it black to look better. I'm going to install a light in the back where the ashtray was to illuminate the floor of passenger area if wanted at times. Just need to buy a swivel hinge to re-attach the lid to the base as it was taped together before.

I can't remember if stated this already but swapped out the red switch for off road hid lights to a black on-off switch with blue led. Led is too damn bright, blinds me. I put sharpie on it but not enough. If I cant get it to dim with some vht night shades using qtip then I will disconnect ground for led or move it to center dash down lower to light up the floor a bit. I had a piece of black tape over the led for a while, damn bright led's lol. I love them still.

I also gave my motor 2 degrees more timing so I'm at 8 degrees and riched it up a notch on afm after checking plugs. This things runs great with slightly ported tb. Was holding 75 no problem up steep hills in 5th, 4th gear lagged on some hills but drop to 3rd and watch it just climb rpms fast. It runs great.

I took the tb off again and ported it even more and deeper too blade to increase the gains. It is no supra tb but def. helps the air flow and response and mid and high acceleration quite a bit. Hoping to help the lower more by lengthening the porting to blade and cleaning up the back and port matching the tb to the intake manifold and porting the afm and pvc piece it connects to a bit. Now I just need to swap batter and put my 90 deg tube on for better intake flow and less restricted as you can see i have in pics above and put on a newer k&n filter. It's come a long ways. Turbo plans are in the works to add to my 4-1 header instead of buying turbo flanged exhaust manifold. Cheaper adding to the header and be plenty for what I need to have more power to tow the the lil trailer with two atv's on it and some gear up some hills and what not and not lose much speed if any. Hitch setup coming soon as well to be able to tow.

I am going to measure and see if my quad will fit in the back of the 4runner with top off and roll bar out of it. Wont be easiest lifting it in but if narrow enough I'll do that for now. I added 2" spacers to each side front and rear of my quad so probably wont fit unless I tilt it or take them off but we will see.

Gotta figure out why my reverse lights are not working. Either fuse or switch on trans. I want my new bright led reverse light bulbs to work damn it lol.

Took my son up to Tibblefork resevoir up Alpine canyon.

The switch I swapped out to for off road hid lights with bright led light.

Leaking drivers side rear. I have new axle seals inner and outer and new shoes, just waiting for a new locker or rebuild kit to get rid of the play I have and do it all at once.

I got a hinge for the center console arm rest. I have since this pic painted the hinge black inside and out to match. I haven't done the light in the back yet, still need to find one to work. I haven't done the lock yet, not sure if can find one to work. I will probably end up building my own console that's tough with my own lock on it. Same with the stereo area.

Here is a pic of the TB ported more and deeper. It really pics up a lot better now through out the entire rpm range. Def. helped me in 4th and 5th gear quite a bit for snappy throttle and acceleration. Well worth the hour or so of time it took me.

I took off the plastic black side panels with 4runner logo on them and painted them with black gloss to make look better. I just need to find me some new plastic push pin things to mount them back up with. I'll take pics and post when I get them back on the truck.

I found out the previous owner wired up the manual temp gauge to the deck lamp switch so light only works if it's on. I'm going to re-wire to come one when the accessory lights come on so I can use the deck lamp switch for new rear lights on the side in the back when I install them.

I got the stupid push button on key cylinder to stick so don't have to keep pushing it down to remove the key which I hate because I would forget to turn it off all the way sometimes and kill the battery. Now I don't have to worry about that as I can turn it all the way off easier now.

I added a cool Snap-On decal to rear window. Got it free as my dad used to be a Snap-On tools dealer. Now I just need to tint all the windows and order me up a new motor for the rear window so don't barely go up and take forever and find me the top mounted weather stripping on the tail gate so when window is down, it wont rattle. Same with the doors, I have the inside pieces but not ones on the outside yet which sucks. I hope to be taking the top off and using fiberglass repair kit on it and sanding and painting it up with new coat of black soon and same with the roll bar.

I really want to find a soft top with sides and back that can roll up whether it be snap or zip up and provide shade while being open but not sure where to get one yet or how much they are. If anyone has info on them, please let me know.

Hope you are enjoying my build so far, keep tabs because I am always doing something. I am looking today for a new detroit locker for the rear as the one I have now has play in it. I'll buy new one, take old out, rebuild if I can for not too much and sell it. I know I should rebuild the one I have but forgot to get part numbers off of it when I had it out and don't wanna take it out again until I have all parts to do that, and all my new axle seals and shoes for brakes at once. If I find a good deal on disc brake upgrade for rear, I'll do that as well. I want wider axles but more than can afford for now so just basic disc upgrades would suffice. I will be purchasing new open beam round headlights and order h4 hid kit for them to have them as hid driving lights so I don't have to use my hid offroad lights all the time to see better than my halogen yellow headlights.

I dig your front bumper and light set up. It looks really clean! Is that grill from an 82-83 4x4?

Couple quick lighting pics. I should have waited until it was darker to get the full effect of the lights. I still need to find a pitch dark area or field to really show how bright and great they are.

Got my afm dialed in about right now all plugs showing light brown wet cardboard color. I am installing a new tensioner pulley to see if that's where the whining I get comes from. If not, then new idler pulley will be on the way and go from there.

What's the black cylinder can thing on passenger side by firewall? Some egr thing or something. It had a hose coming off it and to open air so I took hose off and plugged it. I also don't have anything hooked to the diaphram by tb either so not sure what that does or if I need to.

Also wanna find out if the truck would handle and ride better if I mounted shocks to top of axle or both to front or rear instead of drivers front side and passenger rear side of rear axle. Seen many with shock mounted on top of axle and angled in.

I took the top of it too. I painted the roll bar, painted the side panels by the doors and installed with new clips. I accidentally broke one bolt on roll bar and still need to drill out and put a new one in. It bounces around ore now as less weight in rear but not too bad. I don't know how much the top weighs but wasn't light for fiberglass. It was more awkward than heavy. I need to repair and patch some holes on the top and sand and paint it and get windows tinted. I really want to find an all season soft top that holds up to elements and can roll side or back up for open air yet keeping top for shade.

I found out even with my quad being 4" wider than stock, I should be able to fit it in the back of the yota with the roll bar removed to haul it until I get a receiver welded on with new made bumper.

I don't have any good day pics of truck with top off and roll bar painted yet but I will get some up soon.

I was having fun yesterday driving when I was showing a Scion TC I could keep up with him and even passed him once. First time I took the truck to 5k. It sounds and runs good for having slop in the rear end worn clutch and emergency brake holding a little bit as I pulled too hard and broke it or pulled it apart or something. I need to look at that now.

My rear axle on drivers side really started leaking now so I will be replacing inner and outer seals on both sides with new shoes for now until I can figure out a good disc brake conversion swap on stock axles. That will force me to get the numbers off the detroit locker this time to see if i can find a rebuild kit for it or not to save me some money.

I had to black duck tape the headliner around the edge where the shell was bolted to the cab as it's getting old and wearing out and tearing off sadly.

I also need to seal up all the back and fenders and floor everywhere so I can either put heat/sound insulation down or paint on bedliner stuff then new front matching bucket seats and have the rear seats be redone if not too much. Right now just a dog cover over them to help that's strapped down so I don't lose it on the freeway which almost happened to a snapon rug i had in the back.

Quick rain repellent.

New tensioner pulley from Oreilly auto parts. Had to use washers so didn't rub bracket.
Installed new Gates standard ribbed belts. My old tensioner pulley would make a whining noise. I could probably take apart and add bearings if needed to and repack it maybe and it would work? Not sure but new one has warranty and works good.

I installed new clear front corner lenses and new tail light lenses yesterday. I wanted the all clear tail light lenses but the highway patrol says you need some kind of red reflector showing during daylight hours and I didn't want to stick or hang a red reflector anywhere else so I went with half red and half clear. I think they look good. Plus the cost of one all clear lens is the same cost of two of these half red half clear ones I got so I wasn't about to spend that much on lenses. I thought about tinting them but then again would have to have a red reflector put somewhere and didn't want to deal with that this time like I have done on my trans am. I installed some big bright led lights in the reverse light sockets to really show my way and blind people who ride my ass lol. I miss the black trim of the old lights but I didn't wanna take the time right now to paint these or worry about it and they look good enough as it is so I will leave them polished for now.
