Thanks man! I can't wait to get it done.

Just waiting on parts right now. I ordered a 23 spline input gear for the 4.7 case from Marlin. Also having them update my V6 adapter for the gear drive case. Shouldn't be waiting much longer now

Now to what I wanted to show y'all... This is my guess as to why this terd never ran from the get go.
Someone decided that after they cracked the block that MIG welding it was the best way to fix it. They missed a crack though, clearly visible above the bird poop welds.

I haven't torn it down yet but I am curious to see what is on the inside.

Agreed! That is a fix that I wouldn't have even considered.

Looks like you are slacking on your antler collection
Are the early Bronco grills also results of hunting trips?

They're great rigs. I grew up in the passenger seat of dads 73. That's where I picked up all my wheelin experience.
The one in the pic with the antlers use to be mine.

Small update. Nothing much, stuff kinda moves slow around here with so much other things going on. (1 Bronco project, like 8 Toyota projects between 5 of us, and 3 Escorts to maintain...) But I have my small pile of parts. The 2wd rear sump pan and pick up, the updated Marlin V6 adapter, dropzone's old twin stick kit. I decided to not powdercoat the conversion mounts because I can't get the pos HF coater to work properly for me... It's dumb. So a couple of coats of rattle can flat black will have to suffice for now.
I did finally get the engine and trans pulled out of the 4Runner. I need to now put the oil pan on, move the oil dipstick, and pull the crossover exhaust. I think I will end up running both banks right out the back for ease and cheapness.

New pan and pickup

That is what I am shooting for. I REALLY don't want to run a body lift.

I am trying to get some work done but my old man seems to come up with something for me to do every time I go out to the shop to work on it... I think he's jealous

That will be legit. I am using Chikat's conversion mounts. Not sure if they allow the engine swap to be with out cutting the hood or body lift. I will find out soon enough though. I am hoping to have it dropped in Monday since I have the day off.

I relocated the oil dipstick tube to the proper spot. I just used the factory tube instead of looking for a T100 tube. Just as easy, only needed to drill out the hole to half inch to make it fit. No pic...
The 2wd rear sump pick up and pan installed.
