Now that I’ve come up with a final design for the vent line on the fuel pump pickup hat I’ll be sending it off again for one last paint job. Then finishing the tank and mounting the fuel pump box for good and the fuel system will be complete.

When I first started the build I bought a cheap chrome starter. After pouring this much time and energy into the truck I decided the cheap China starter needs to go. In place will be this much higher quality chrome power masters mini starter. Better off to swap it now then after the china part leaves me stranded somewhere.

I’ve got the wheels back in hand now. Time to drop more parts off for paint. In the mean time I’m wiring up the new Ron Francis fuse panel.

so today I finally got a bunch of parts back from the painters. The gauge panel is now ready to go in and all I need to do is wire the gauges.

They were polished by chris poyner. He refinishes a lot of the old weld wheels.

I’ve got the radiator fans, drive shaft flanges, t case mount, power steering pump and the original rear disc brake swap I was going to use back from the painters. I will be going with the marlin V6 front upgrade calipers with cross drilled and slotted rotors. Time to get parts back on the truck. Next week I’ll have the rear axle shafts, axle bearing housings, rear V6 calipers, brake master and some others back from being painted. Going to make massive progress this month.

The camera really does not do these gauges justice but I really like the way they came out. It’s time to connect the power and sender wires and mount the panel for good.

Well this part has been a long drawn out process. I had the radiator hoses custom made from stainless steel and after polishing the radiator is done. Now for something easy. All I have to do is snug everything down and the radiator is 100% complete.

I just need to finish buttoning up a few things under the dash and I can bolt it in for good. I’ll post some pics as soon as I do.

It’s almost start up time! Just had a fuel filler neck made with a vented pop up gas cap then got it chromed. Just waiting on the fuel pick up tube to be painted then I can install it for good. I had to re do it because I ended up shaving off the vent line and replacing the pick up tube with a stainless tube and AN fitting welded on as opposed to the slip on hose with a cheesy worm clamp. The engine bay is now fully prepped and the gauges are done. I should be starting the engine up in the next couple weeks.

Very impressive! Beautiful job on that truck.

Can't wait to hear about how it sounds once you fire it up.

Keep us in the loop!

Took a few months building a big brake setup for the rear. I used cross drilled slotted rotors with IFS calipers from Marlins solid axle brake upgrade kit and brackets are from trail tough. I painted all the parts using the same sikkens paint code on the body. All the hardware was chromed then I pressed it all together with Marlins axle rebuild kits.
