Cool slappy's 81 4x4 rebuild/restore project

gonna turn this beast into an amphibian...
just kidding I live in the desert, it's gonna be a reptile. My first restoration! I've got a lot to learn! Hopefully I can get some advice or tips or veteran knowledge(old man wisdom) from anyone who happens to stumble upon this. I'm taking out the stock carb and throwing in a weber 32/36 with an offy manifold. Going to do a full paint and body job, complete interior restoration and full camper rebuild. thinking of doing the ifs gear mod and if possible add an aux fuel tank or some way to store more fuel for the long treks out into the middle of nowhere that I like to take as often as possible.
THANKS!

Good looking truck already minus the mismatched bed topper! Is the factory carb giving you troubles? An Offenhauser manifold is a decent mod but you'll get more bang for your buck if you spend that money on a stage 1 or "RV" camshaft. IFS gearbox is also a good swap.

'81 is the best year of the Hilux/Pickup in my personal opinion! Definitely going to be following along!

haha yeah the mismatched colors are an eye sore and many disagree but I hate the cheesy graphics on the side. can't wait to paint it all but first things first, I'm going through the entire fuel system, cleaning up and rewiring some of the fine(˟˟˟˟ty) work of whoever had this truck before.

I started tearing up the stock carb, manifold, emission control hocus pocus(egr, vac line rails, air pump booster thing and an assortment of vsv's, bsv's check valves and what not), air cleaner/intake housing, and heater core stuff. anyone interested in buying any of this stuff? or perhaps know where I can sell it?

the evaporator coil was nasty! years of crap built up and no filtration. I had to get creative and improvise a way to filter the cabin air. there was just enough space between the coil housing and the body for me to sandwich a slice of filter media in there.

Post the parts for sale in the classified here on this site. They will sell. Some of us still have to smog ours. I already have all my parts otherwise I would be all over them.

That's not a bad idea for a cabin air filter, what filter media did you use?
