Reason 1981 Pickup Build

Recently bought this pickup after searching craigslist for months. It will definitely be a project and I'm looking forward to learning as I go. Making this tread to keep track of everything that I do with the truck.

Sounds like someone used power from either the brake switch or the turn flasher relay, to make the other work. There is no common wire for power to the brake system and the turn signal system. Check all grounds and a continuity check between the green/white wire on the brake switch and the green white wire at the flasher/or the turn signal switch.

Congrats on your new project truck.

Drained the front gear and engine oil. Got the front axle off for a knuckle rebuild and clean up.

Went to a salvage yard this weekend and picked up a new bench seat, tailgate, doors and a few other small things. The doors are off of a 85 2wd extra cab so not positive they are gonna fit. They look exactly the same but wont have a chance to put them on till this weekend.

As soon as I put the doors up to my cab I saw extra length on them. Was not to confident on them fitting because of different generation trucks, but they were in such good condition I got them anyways. Need to be more active on here so I can get the required post count to post them in the classifieds.
