Damn..forgot my password and the email I used. Just now got access again :-) Had to drive over to Washington and picked up an original 1981 Toyota Canopy...was orange and now painted the same color I did the truck in. Had the Aluminum painted black to give it more the bumble bee look :-)

Thank you...I'm taking it into the shop on Monday to get a "new" rebuilt engine with upgraded cam, stronger clutch, Weber and header installed and of course all new mounts, all wearable parts on the engine are being replaced. Hoping to get the Power steering done at the same time. This is what the engine looks like today...next week I will post the new :-)

Daaaammmn. That's slick AF! Totally jealous right now. I've had my truck for about a month and it's transformation was less stellar

The only rust I had was at the base of the bed at the tail gate area. When it was taken in to get painted the rust was cut out and the metal replaced

Just dropped my truck off to the shop to get the new motor installed. They are bumping up the cam for a little better bottom end. Weber, header, all mounts and as long as they can find the remainder of the parts they are going to be installing the Power Steering. This was originally a California Truck so the rest of the emission stuff will be gone. As soon as I get it back I will post the new pictures:-)

I'm hoping to get my truck back this week..I have a question about the 5 speed tranny. Is there a good, better and best 5 Speed trans available to mount behind the 22r if so how do I tell which 5 speed I have?

Just went over to take a look and everything is installed..Engine, Header, Power Steering and The Steering Plumbing. They are waiting for the Italian Made Weber which I think is coming in from Italy. Then its off to the exhaust place to connect the header to the rest of it This is going to feel weird driving the truck with Power Steering

Usual concensus on the tranny is that the W-series is the stronger one to bolt behind de R series engine. There might be others but with the power you are pushing I wouldn't worry too much. As for the weber, they stoped making them in italy in 1989 I believe, after that it was made in spain. As long as you don't have the chinese knock off one.

As for the Tranny W-series is there a certain area where I can find the code on mine to make sure which one I have? Nope no China knock off they have to warranty everything they sell
Got the truck back last night and OMG is it nice nice. Here are the after pictures
