And back from the machine shop. I hope this bore will be ok it's 60 over, a friend had one bored this much and had no problems. Since I was in town to get the motor, I dropped my bed off at the line x place.

Had to hang the bed to get the underside clean enough for coating.
After Toyota work, I finished this bolt knob for a friends fresh rebarreled 260, all I need to do is epoxy a case head in the end of the knob when he brings me a piece of brass.

Looks like things are going well with your build. Sure glad my neighbor has a bucket on his tractor, sure is handy. The Linex looks good

Linex is good, but it cost me about 30% more than I had planned, at $840 it is one of the most expensive things I've done. But I haven't bought tires yet. Come to think of it most everything is costing 30% more lol. My engine rebuild is even higher than planned, but feature creep got me a little bit, might as well put a cam in while it's open, you know. And yeah the bucket helps, as I get older I like cheater bars, jacks, and hydraulics better than using my back that used to be indestructible, I thought.

Score! Got hold of an old high school friend who had acquired quite a few old trucks in the twenty some years since high school, who new there was a yota mine with in a mile of my house, just hidden by the trees. He sold me a power steering, a five speed tranny, an a valve cover to replace my cracked one.

Yes it is, I'm pumped about the tranny, no shipping! But I have to go load the truck and bring it to my shop to pull the tranny, then drop it off at his other place for him. This old truck was in some kind of wreck and ruined the cab so he cut the cab off and kind of used like a gator.

Started the blocking primer, more of that sanding.
Hope we can get this thing over to dads paint room, I'm tired of sanding.

Tranny donors in pre-op, it was quite a job pulling that thing out of that ditch! Should have got pic of the extrication. It aso has the sr5 gauges that go under the air vent, I may see if he will sell them to me too, they are blue but I think they will paint. The best thing about this evening was the tire beads were still seated and all four took air. The owner says the engine is still good, but I don't need it at the moment.

Mostly restore with some modernization, I want some upgrade springs to get a better ride, leather seats, linex bed liner, five speed tranny upgrade, power steering, maybe a sr5 cluster with a tach and the gauges in front of the shifter, I love the 82 body style and want to keep it so it can always go back original if somebody ever wants to do so. Modifieds can be built out of beaters and rust buckets.
