Hello. Has anyone found a brighter light bulb solutions for pre-84 gauge clusters? I am not looking to upgrade to LEDs as I believe this would involve new wiring of some sort. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks everyone in advance

 

LEDs are plug and play, no wiring needed. super easy and makes a huge difference. I have an '80 4x4 and changed all the interior and gauges to LED, it's great.

cluster:
bulb size = 194 (aka T10, 168, 2825, W5W) - just pay attention to the dimensions / size. smaller = better fit.
12 total - you can get all white. i suggest warm white, but cool white works great too.

or if you want a more saturated color, match the LED to the indicator color. see below.
4 red - charge, oil, brake, 4x4
1 blue - high-beam
2 green - turn signals
5 any color - speedo, tach, fuel, etc
