Cut and contact cement
You can really see the repaired area near the lock rod in this shot.... Now just have to finish the bottom with 801 black carpet

Nearly forgot this repair. The exhaust muffler rusted out took a dump. So I installed a stainless Walker Quiet Flow 3 22501 2.25 cnt in - 2.25 offset out

I clamped most of my connections with stainless clamps. I Used stainless adapters where ever needed for reduction between piping.
I used existing exhaust pipe since they were in great shape and just wire wheeled any surface rust off and then used High temp Barbecue grill paint on those areas like the welds and hangers

So a lot going on... Now that all the holes for all 4 fender flares are drilled I have to;
Prime / paint / clear the driver fender.
Body fill, seam seal, prime / paint / clear body sides and skirts.
Prime / paint / clear Flares Black
Install Flares
Check brakes / booster / MC
Wet sand / polish hood... again
Carpet bottom of doors and fab L&R Kick panels
So if I'm Not Posting for a while Y'all know why

Wow! 5 years have gone by.
Spent the rest of 2018 and 2019 Packing up Maryland and Moving us to Arizona where I'm From.
Glad to have been In AZ through the Plandemic with No Restrictions and total Freedom.
Spent most of my time working on the New House and a Little bit Working on Big Red.
I didn't get much done before the move except.
Driver Fender was Painted and All Flares installed and Painted.
Carpeted the bottom of the door panels.
After getting here the House was and is Priority. The honey do list is bigger than ever. With that said, Big Red did have a few maintenance issues that moved to the front of the line.
Mostly Leaking seals. I had to replace the front crank seal again. The two Hogs head pinion seals needed to be replaced along with the flanges that were grooved. The Transfer Case seals along with the Flanges that were also grooved.

Also I had located a Smittybilt Double Double Roll Bar from the 80s that was sitting in somebody's Arizona Yard for who knows how many years. It was beat up pretty bad with several coats of different paint, A few fingernail sized dings, A few bent light tabs, and a little surface rust. It was a lucky find despite all the years of abuse. It's just like the one I bought Brand New in the eighties for my 1981 Yota
pictured under my call sign Big Little Bear. I couldn't find any before shots but after a week of sanding, filling, straitening, and painting it came out looking great. I found some KC Highlites to install and ran the wires inside the tubes. I had also previously ran wiring specifically for this roll bar and lights on page 8 and 9 of this project.

Ok, Over the past couple of years the Fender Flares on the Front of the truck have held up Spectacularly! Who would expect anything less because Corey over at Precision 4X4 made them Bullet Proof!
The Rear set of Flares however were Original Bushwckers and they are pretty flimsy made from thin Plastic. Over the 5 years of vibration the Passenger Rear Bushwacker began to develop fracture cracks around the Specialty bolts that I used to install them. One day while driving down the road a gust of wind came along and ripped the Rear flare off and sent the flare into the shoulder of the road. Lucky the traffic was light with only one car 70 yards behind me. I reversed in the emergency lane and picked it up.

Now the only Remedy to this is Obvious.... Contact Corey over at Precision 4x4 and get his Bullet Proof Flares for the Rear. Corey came through once again and saved the day.
With These New Bullet Proof Flares from Corey at Precision 4X4 Center, You Can Keep your Gas Door intact so I Tracked one down that was a key lock door. I think Corey sells them as well.

Well that's about it for now. I want to Thank Corey over at Precision 4X4 Center once again for coming through so quickly with his Super Strong Fiberglass Flares. If you need stuff for your Yota give him a Call or Email. I also want to Thank the Yotatech crowd for your posts, insights, knowledge and interest.
