81 Toyota SR5 slow build

Just got my new project.

81 Toyota SR5
22R w/ 5 speed

So far I've only gotten around to fixing the parking brake, speedometer cable and the throttle that sticks.

More pictures to come but this is it on some tires I had from other truck.

Looks like a nice one to start with. What size of tires are on it?

clean lookin' rig ... but dosnt look like an /81 .. no round lamps ?
although , the bumper suggests the year is /81 (except for the clear signals )

what are your plans ?

Hey sorry guys didn't get any more pictures but I will. It was raining I got off work late.

To answer some questions tire size is 33x12.5 R15

My plans are to make this a clean daily driver/weekend wheeler. I mainly want it to be a clean straight looking truck but can handle some basic trails for camping and such.

In more detail with the year, it is a confusing truck. I know the turn signals are off another vehicle which is why it's clear lenses. But it's an 81 with square headlights and also it still has the latch tailgate with the handles on each side. So the truck is confusing me also.

So it started raining and found out there's a hole in the dash somewhere so had the truck under a tarp for a bit.

On another not I ripped the dash pad off because it was garbage. While that's all apart I tried to figure out my gauge problem but no luck yet. Also as I thought about how there is water on drivers side I pulled up the carpet and found the rust I was waiting for

Got a little bored and wanted to just try out the truck a little bit. So I decided to climb around on my rock wall. I don't have a fully functional parking brake so I decided to just dig some holes with the tires to get it to stay

So I also picked up some parts for the parts pile that I will eventually get to putting on. Got a wire harness because why not. But my main things are a new hood, steering column and wheel, new dash. I'm also gonna be picking up some new doors and fenders soon.

I got lucky with the dash and scored a factory toyota CB radio. But don't think I'm gonna use it so if anyone is interested let me know. Not sure how much they go for.

Nice score on the fenders and doors! They look clean and straight, assuming there isn't an obnoxious amount of bondo under that paint. Want to sell them???

Thanks I'm not sure what's under the primer just yet will find out when I strip all the paint. I rather use all one kind of primer on the whole truck. I'm thinking about making some half doors with my old ones. Then my old fenders and hood will just go up for sale.

I have them out the bed now it's 3 pieces and they're toyota. Not sure if it was a factory option or they came out later on but they fit right inside this trucks bed. I would like the sell them actually not sure what they're worth. There's a couple holes from screws holding the front piece in and the a couple small cracks I believe.
