Just wanted to share this with all the Toyota enthusiasts on here that I recently acquired a 1979 Limited Edition Hilux that just happens to be #100. I have plans of fully restoring this to factory specs, using as many of the original factory parts as I can. If you have any information regarding the LE trucks from 79 please message me as I'm looking for all the information I can find. I know there are a few posts on these and I've looked them over quite a bit but they're all older posts and I would love to converse with some knowledgable members in real time if possible. Thanks.
Very cool truck! What options have you identified that add to it's limited-ness?
What color was it originally?
Thanks! It was originally the red color that is still on the top half of the truck. I think the majority of the 1089 LE's were all the same color red, but I've heard of a few being black or blue(?). As far as limited options it has the cluster gauge with the tac included, which I believe was an SR5 option. It has the oil pressure and voltage gauges, Limited Edition badge on the center of the dashpad, chrome front bumper, grille, and headlight boxes, Limited Edition fender emblems, and the door panels are full length with carpet at the bottom and a pouch on the driver's side. The interior is in decent shape but I do not have the original seat. I have a seat from an 83 Hilux that I believe is the same but I cannot confirm that for sure. The passenger side door also does not have a mirror on it and I'm not sure if it was removed when the two-tone paint job was applied or if this is factory.
