Just got new tires for the 4Runner. It was a toss up bigtime between the Duratracs and the Revo II A/T's E Range. I never had such a hard time to decide what to do

I loved the look of the Duratracs...but there were a bunch of reviews concerning sidewall sway, so it was deal killer. I didn't want to spend that much money and get right back into the same boat. That was 1# beef with the Dunflops...like riding on a ball..all over the place.

I got the standard size. This is my DD so nothing exotic yet. The ride difference is beyond incredible I can't believe it's the same truck. Although the tread pattern is not over aggressive, it has pretty good ratings off road (not the Rubicon)

$890 out the door with a $100 mil in rebate...I'm loving it. Now I can tow the ROAM with some piece of mind. The installer is also giving me a good price to chuck 2 new ones on the trailer...Revo's all the way around!

Just bought a 2010 4Runner, my 4th one. Sadly it came with Dunlops and I need to get rid of them. Looking at Michelin LTX and $900 at Costco. Why does Toyota build such a great vehicle and put such poor tires on it? Taking off Dunlops with 400 miles next week and putting tires on that are much safer.

 

The sway of the Duratracs isn't noticed if there is any on heavier vehicles like the 5th gen 4Runner if E load rating is used but I have the C load rated on my 3rd gen aired up to 36psi and I don't have any of that even at speeds over 75mpg.

 

i've heard good things about Cooper AT3's lots of people on the t4r.org forum have them. and they're a good price

 

E Load rating for the 5th gen doesn't produce a harsh ride?

 

The rating of the tire on those revo's are pretty good. They ride good but I chose the 6 ply duratracks. 245/75r16 and love them on my 2003 4runner. I have gone places I wouldn't dream of going with a regular AT tire. The duratracs are winter tires without a tread rating btw.

Both tires are soft for a 10 ply btw
