Yep, and with each new generation it keeps getting plusher and more $$$.
Be nice to see it go back to its roots.

Prices are in check;my '99 stickered at over $35k and my mom's '99 Limited was almost $38k so save for the fully loaded Limiteds you should easily be able to get an SR5 nicely equipped for what mine cost 10+ years ago and you are getting alot more truck.

Me likey... At lest they offer it with a rear locker. Not sure how you add armor with these bubble bumpers on the newer gens.

Front end looks like it will be a PITA to install a winch bumper. Look at the size of that one piece composite thing! It wraps up to the lights! At least it isn't as ugly as the 4th gen.

I think that I'll keep my 3rd gen another 20 years... Toyota is going downhill with all their mallcruisers. Even the land cruisers suck now.

Have you seen the vid of the 5th gen tackling moab equipped with just sliders and bigger tires? They beat the crap out of it but it looked quite capable and the crawl assist might be hard to beat.

This isn't a mallcruiser.

Its fugly. Toyota needs to fire their exterior designer. It looks like the new Prius.

It looks like the drivers side floor mat will need to be included in the recall in this 4Runner as well...

With a few exceptions, I have yet to like, or find any of the redesigned Toyotas of the last 3-5 years appealing in any way.

IMO, they should've left the Tundra alone in 2003, and the 4th gen 4Runner wasn't too bad looking, but the Camry, the New Tundra/Sequoia, and esp the Prius just don't appeal to me personally. I know people will argue that the styling reflects the current trends, and help lower drag coefficients....but the Corvette has one of the lowest drag coefficients, and it is a beautiful car. The Prius couldn't have taken a hint from that?

Just my opinion, but I like to look at cars without vomiting which is harder and harder to do these days.....and that's not limited to Toyota.

exterior styling is awkward and it looks too much like an FJ....the interior is quite bland as well with large expanses of gray plastic... and most importantly, does it offer anything new?

For some reason I like it. Not too sure why though . I'm planning on buying a newer, more reliable car in the next 5 years, maybe I'll pick up a used one of these

He he, how can you confuse the new 4Runner with an FJ?
Totally different.

It should come with a two-door option with a removable top.

The crawl control seems pretty cool though.

it is strange that yota doesn't offer a wrangler competitor with removable doors and top. that would sell very well. make a true 2 door version of the FJ cruiser with a soft top and watch them fly off the shelves.

I know what you mean about the price. What 38k for a trail ed and no manual. I won't be getting one....at least not a new one. I have the salesman from Toyota calling me every couple of days but I think the lack of a manual is going to be a deal breaker on a new one. 5 or 6 speed I'd probably pony up the cash.

I was looking and they didn't put the uprated engine in the FJ or Tacoma for 2010. I thought I'd to settle for a Tacoma with that much power.
