Just go to the dealer, i had to, so nice and smooth with new cables, weren't too pricey either.

 

Local Toyota dealer just quoted me $51.00 each. Maybe you get a break being up in Canada since everything else is more expensive.

 

ebay has them right now !

cables eh? mine has metal 2 piece arms that bend

 

I'm looking for the cables that release the lock. The left one got all crusty and would not slide thru the sleeve. So the cable would not release, therefore locking the tailgate.

I may go to a local door and lock company.

 

26.00 a piece at the Toyota dealership. I bought two and will save one for later. have a good day!
