It sure wouldnt hurt, keep the dust and other junk out. One reason why I was skeptical to order these for rock lights was because they do seem somewhat prone to the elements unlike some of the rubber housed work lamps I've seen...HOWEVER I did order 2 pair and they seem to be real nice and should last awhile. I live in AZ so not too worried about rust, etc.

Thanks for the heads up on this deal!

I was thinking about that too as if you do a water crossing they will just fill up with water. I'll probably seal them anyway but I don't know if it will cause anything bad to happen to them...

yea, some lights get pretty hot and need that ventalation. My bro had a pair of fog lights that had some plastic in them and those peices melted. Shouldn't you just be able to waterproof the electrical stuff and still have the vents open?

Yeah, but that doesn't keep them from becoming a fishbowl after you dunk them.

Really? I guess they sealed the lens and the vents are just to carry heat away from that... cool. I did think it was odd that a company like Hella wouldn't make a waterproof light. Thanks man.

ok y'all, i sent out the email to hella, they are sending all stickers to me, and because i'm such a nice guy, i'll be mailing them out on my own. 11 people are getting 2 stickers each. i dont' know what they look like yet, so i'll post a pic when i get them, just in case someone doesn't want theirs.

my lights took a good dunking today, and held up fine

FYI: The stickers they send are kind of small. It is the one on the window right below the Warn sticker (sorry for the low res):

I'll have some pics in a week. I'm trying to figure out how well these things will work as far as broadening the light pattern so it's not so "tunnel-vision" at night.

I'll probably just trim the sticker around the blue oval. That will make it look better
