FS:(IL) $2K obo '91 4Runner - ARB, Warn, lift, headers, etc..
$2000 obo - 1991 4Runner 150kmiles
5spd w/ V6 - head gaskets & timing belt done @ 140k
Add-ons:
ARB Bull bar & SIDE RAILS (rare only a handful imported from AUS)
Warn XD9000
NWOR headers & exhaust
Downey K&N intake
Downey 2" lift
20gal Aux gas tank
ConFer roof rack
ConFer Transmission Skid plate
Downey cross brace
Rear swing away spare tire!
5 Centerline wheels w/ new BFG AT's
For those that don't know about the side rails, they are super solid (3/16" or 1/4" thick steel tubing). Mounted at 3 points (bumper, transfercase & frame/bracket welded to frame in front of rear wheel).
You know how when you go into a mud hole that is slanted and you slide to the bottom and crash into what ever else is there (trees, rocks, etc)...the rails allow you to "ride on" them. Saves you every time!
The first time you do it, it blows your mind...every other time you just grin
Regrets:
Body damage - 10" tear on rear quarter, that can be patched easily. This happened from a weird accident where a lady in a mini-van pulling out of a parking lot tagged my rear at low speed. But the insurance company totalled it due to the cost to replace to whole quarter panel (they don't pay for patches). It does not affect the truck's function at all, but is somewhat unappealing to look at. I'll take some more pics for anyone really interested.
Needs starter - which is actually why I'm selling it.
The shop wants 16hrs labor because the headers have to come out to change the starter...and the thought of working on aftermarket add-on's seems to freak them out. I'd do it myself if I had the time.
But now I have 2 kids and need more sensible vehicle.
I am the 2nd owner and have driven it since 17k miles. My 4 wheeling days have been long behind me as I moved from Nashville to Chicago in 96.
Great deal for someone that does some DIY work. For that matter, it would piece out well if you had the time and place to keep it.
Feel free to ask any questions; I know this truck inside and out.
Regards,
Mike Johnson

IT STARTS!
For awhile it was 50/50 whether whe should kick right over. On the bad half it would click, click, click 5 or 10 times before I could get it engage the starter. So far, I've never got totally stuck not starting...
Saturday I put a new battery(740cca) in it and went over the wire connections, thinking that maybe the old battery didn't have enough juice to arc through any corrosion on the contacts...and I was right! It has not shown the symptoms since.
SO, I'm not sure if I just bought some time OR FIXED the problem!
Oil leaks - I used to have more, but they were fixed when I got the heads done at 140k. Right now the only one I'm aware of is coming from the front of the oil pan gasket.
