CarPC (Carputer, in car pc) Setup for sale
I've got a deal here for someone trying to get a system together. I've got a 7 inch TView touch widescreen and a via mini itx board for sale.
*EDIT* I would also entertain the idea of trading for 2nd gen 4Runner parts. PM with offers!
PICTURES HERE!
Screen
Great shape.
Not used much.
Mounted on a piece of metal to fit a 1st generation Eclipse/Talon/Laser. I'll leave it attached for whomever buys it.
1 VGA and 2 RCA video inputs
Driver CD for Touch Screen
2 original mounts, sticky mount never used.
System:
VIA 800mhz CPU
Fanless (Uses case as a huge heat sink along with large finned heat sink)
256 ram installed
Onboard USB, PS2, Ethernet, Video, Serial, Sound
Bootable Compact Flash Drive
12 volt power supply.
PCI expansion slot
All mounted in a case
System started life as s thin client. But this particular one is much beefier than most thin clients. Its sports a VIA board and 800mhz cpu and most importantly a FULL NORMAL PC BIOS because of motherboard used. All this system is missing is media. It has no hard drive or compact flash card. I have one of these I'm keeping that has the hard drive mounted to the case.
I bought a new vehicle so it is a great excuse for me to build a new system.
Email with any questions you might have. $250 OBO
I also have more of these systems (without the screen) if you are interested.

With a bit of a fab job...yes. If you check out MP3Car.Com it has lots of write up and work logs on how to fab up your own screen bezel. I was going to use this set up...but I'm in need of a new set of tires first.

No hard drives, these things the OS was loaded on a compact flash drive. They ran embedded WindowsXP. Those cards have been removed. I've used a laptop hard drive with an ide adapter and mounted it in my case with screws and hot glue. Seemed to work for me. I could have fabed up something better, but oh well.

Completely off topic, but is there any connection between your screen name and the fact that you have a carputer? LOL.
Bump, by the way and good deal.

I was thinking of doing this. I found this on mp3car.com. This is a guy who did a install in a hilux. But that is the same size screen. You'd just have to re-fab the buttons. Which there is a whole section on that site for...
But it looks like a clean install...
