'98 4Runner needs to go...
'98 Toyota 4Runner Limited - Dark Brown over Tan Leather. Vehicle has 148,000 miles. Runs strong - no problems. Car includes a Con-Ferr safari roof-rack, upgraded suspension (Old Man Emu/ Rancho springs and shocks for 2.75" of lift), brand new BFG All-Terrain Tires (285/75/R16), Pioneer head unit with IPOD hookup, cb installed in dash and pre-wired for antenna, and TDS alarm with remote starter. Leather on driver/ passenger bolster cracked, as well as driver seat and top of steering wheel, small shallow ding on rear bumper (like that when I bought it), and small shallow ding on front bumper (woops). Car went into dealer yesterday to get it looked over - they told me I would need a steering rack replacement soon. They said they could do it for $800, but you can get the part for $325 and probably cheaper labor elsewhere. I also had the battery replaced. I spoke with the mechanic that looked at it and he said that aside from the steering he couldnt believe how good of shape the car was in (considering mileage, year, and price). I will be happy to factor in a discount because of the steering issue - I just dont want to spend more money on a car I'm selling. Selling cause it got replaced with an '02 BMW M5 - time for on-road fun. Truck is in Savannah, GA. Asking $6500 OBO.
Thanks for looking!

Its the 3.4L auto... I've had a couple questions on that. It also has the deckplate mod. Also has color matched Michelin rubber mats - very heavy duty. Think thats everything. I am in the deal making mood... time is more important than price - selling a car yourself is a headache. make me an offer!

Nice 4Runner looks just like mine only with the mods i dont have yet but want. if only this was for sale 2 months ago i would be all over it.
Does it have e-locker? thought someone would like to know. Great deal, i paid a lot more than that for the same truck stock. Someone should jump on it

thanks for interest guys... I have someone that says they want to work out a deal this weekend, so we'll see. No e-locker by the way... would have been nice to have though. Glad I posted on here... should have done this first.

Still available... 48 hour turn around would have been too good to be true. potential buyer thought something may potentially be wrong with the steering, although I don't have (or ever had) any problems with it. I dropped it off at the Yota stealership to let them take a look. If there is a problem, I will get it fixed. Will update Monday. PM me with questions.

What was the deal with the steering? Play in the wheel? did the shop check it out. I am interested but curious about the steering...

Dealer says I will need a steering rack replacement soon, as the current unit leaks. They quoted me $800 to fix, and my indy around $600. I had that go over everything else and they said all is well. I bought a new remote from them as well cause the remote starter hasnt been working, but now its all sorted. I dont know if I can justify spending the money to fix a car im trying to sell, or discounting the price. What do ya'll think? Thanks.

You could fix it then sell it for more. Or sell it for like 5000 or so because if the steering rack is going people are going to wonder what else might be wrong with it. At least if you fixed it then you could sell it and show the potential buyer the receipt and maybe get like 7500 for it if you hold out.

I dont want to hold out... its not worth the headache. I'll let her go for $6000. Blue Book value for fair condition is $7700 and NADA is $8200 for low retail. Subtract $700-800 for power steering rack (again the steering is still fine, I drive it all the time still) and your still making out well for a vehicle in good shape. As for wondering what else is wrong with it - thats what pre-purchase inspections are for. That is part of the buyer's due diligence, not the sellers. I wouldnt buy a car without doing one, dont know why anyone else would.
