86 4runner 4cyl 5spd
1986 4runner 22re (4cyl fuel injected) 5spd. 182,700 miles on the body but about 3 years/13,000 miles ago I did a total rebuild to freshen it up and make a few changes and just this last week my ASC certified mechanic buddy and I tore it down, rebuilt the head and redid all the gaskets just to make sure it was ready to sell. It’s been family owned since new (just my dad and I) and I've been told too many times how it’s the nicest 4Runner around.
What’s been done: When I rebuilt the engine I added a 268 Degree cam from Engnbldr, bored the pistons .020 over and did the mains as well. On the top end I added a Pace Setter header and a 2.25 inch. I did a new clutch on it at the time too.
I tossed on some Pro Comp 1300 shocks this fall and the 31x10.5 R15 Toyo A/T Open Country tires are new as of Spring 07 and are the best tires I've ever had on this thing. New Warn Hubs this spring too. The Smittybilt tube bumpers and nerf bars were sandblasted to bare metal and spray coated 2 years ago and are in great shape.
Interior: The interior has never been smoked in, has since new had seat covers on it and has no major cracks and any minor ones I've filled and fixed. It does have a Pioneer CD player and a tiny little tach too. Disregard my gear on the front passenger floor board and the water from my boots on the drivers side floor mat in the interior pic, will take a cleaner one soon.
The spots that could use some attention: It is a 22 year old rig so there are one or two things that could use some work. Above the drivers side rear tire there was a small rust spot that I fixed but I’m no body man so it’s just a little black patch. Other than the all too common rear end sag that every Toyota from these years has the thing is in incredible shape.
Looking for $3,750. Check http://spokane.craigslist.org/car/555957425.html for pics cause they are too big for this forum.
