4.88 Front IFS with LockRite
I have a 4.88 geared front IFS setup with a LockRite Locker within her. She is ADD which has been disabled but can be re-enabled easily enough.
Also have a rear 3rd with a LockRite in it, but has a bad ring/pinion. Will pull out the rear or ship as is for an extra 3rd to work with.
History,
Front has served me well in the bush but would recomment getting or having manual hubs, easy to install for those without. Purchased from a yotatecher about 1.5 yrs ago. (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f11/...te-diff-90670/)
Front was manual hubs so seen little actual use except when on trail and snow. loved it in the winter time.
The rears were a different story. Purchased 2 4.88 rear setups, 1 open and 1 with lockrite. after 10,000 the rear pinion went bad so i put the open one in and bang on 10,000 km same thing happened. (Maybe i ed up and put 4cyl axels into a 6cyl diff if thats a bad thing or not im unsure). Maybe they were just a cheap R&P. The guy who sold them (pirate4x4) to me seemed very honest and i dont blame him as i cant see him being able to predict that at exactly 10k they could go.
Anyways, i went back to my 4.10's and the 35's the 4.88's were pushing went onto my newly acquired BJ42 landcruiser and my 4runner is my backup vehicle. Which leaves me with a bunch of 3rds.
Located in T-Bay, Ontario Canada - P7A3L1.
I paid $650 for the front 3rd to be shipped to me. Would like to see $500 in my pocket for it and the lockrite w/ 3rd carrier for the rear.

Thnx
Jeff

That would be correct.
1 is in a front with 4.88 gears that works
1 is in a rear needing gears to go with
