2006 Toyota OEM Navigation System
We just purchased a 2006 Sequoia and I will be removing the Toyota Navigation system (Double DIN...DVD based) and replacing it with an aftermarket system. Gauging interest to see if anyone would interested in purchasing it. I haven't determied a price yet, but post here, PM me, or email me if you'd be interested. Thanks.

I can't say with 100% certainty that it will be really really easy, but I'm quite sure that there are a few 3rd gen 4Runners on here that have retrofitted a 4th gen Nav system into their 3rd gen 4Runners. The 3rd gen has a double DIN opening just like the 4th, so I don't think it should be too hard. Do a search on the forum and see if you can find the threads from the folks that have done such retrofit.

Price is to be determined. I've gotta research them and see what they are going for. First things first...I've gotta pick out an aftermarket setup before I pull this one out.

Pardon me. I was gauging interest to see if I would have a market for it or if I should just hold onto it and put it back in the truck whenever we trade it in. Excuse me for breaking the rules...but I really don't see this as a big deal.

I have an 06 Tundra and I wonder if it would fit without much modification. let me know what you decide to do with it and how much. I could pick up from B'Ham to save hassle of shipping.

I would think that it would be an easy retrofit into an '06 Tundra (may want to call your local dealer and double check). Navigation was an option on the Tundra and I'm sure it's the exact same unit. As soon as I make my mind up on which aftermarket unit I'm going to go with, I will post pics on here as well as a price.

Matt, is it anything like this unit?

If so, this could help someone to install it.
This one is out of a 2005 Camry and installed in an FJ Cruiser.

I think we are going to keep it. The nav version we have is E7006 and looks identical to that one. I found a company (www.vaistech.com) that makes modules to integrate satellite radio and ipod functionality with the OEM headunit. All factory controls are maintained and all info (station, song name, titles, artists, etc) is displayed on the navigation screen. I'll let you know how these work out. I'm also going to install the Eclipse BEC105 backup camera which is supposed to be a direct plug and play into this OEM unit. Got my fingers crossed that it works out.
