1987 4Runner FS

Bought this as project. Then life hit... Sucks.

Anyway, would like to see this go to someone with the time and mechanical skills to get this thing goin again.

Truck is a 1987 4Runner SR5 w/ 134,000 mile 22-RE. Pretty much every option in this rig, and surprisingly they all work. It's in really good condition for an east coaster, from what I was told it was in Southern Jersey its whole life before me, and has an '05 Jersey inspection sticker. The only things wrong with it mechanically are the brakes and the e-brake cable is snapped. New fully loaded front calipers, master cylinder, and an e-brake cable assembly that I bought from one of the Yota parts yards will come with truck, uninstalled.

Ran very strong the short time I drove it. Won't start without jump if it sits for a few weeks, so I believe the battery is dead. Surface rust here and there, as to be expected on a 19 year old east coast rig, but no rot that I could find.

As it is right now it would need to be towed due to the fact it has non-working brakes. It is in Abington, PA. Zipcode is 19001.

Would love to get $2500. Asking $2000. Will seriously consider reasonable offers. Please e-mail skitrev33@hotmail.com. Thanks guys and girls.

Here are a few. They show the areas of rust one the body where it looks like a repair was made, albeit not a great one. The one spot of rust on the window frame for the top. The interior is in great shape aside from a crack in the dash next to the inclinometer, some spotting on the rear carpet, and the top of the center console could be replaced. Tires have just about full tread.

Ya man just donate that nice red Taco of yours to me and we have a deal! If someone offered a fair trade on something that caught my eye I'd probably take it.

Thats like exactly the same as mine.......well pretty close.

One question....in the picture imediatley following the gauge close up.

right under the ashtray there's a toggle switch. what is it? I don't have that and I was wondering if it's stock or something you put on.

Power antenna.

That is a nice and clean 4Runner, at least from those pics and brakes are nothing to fix on them. I wish you were closer and I'd come get it tomorrow, but that is too damn far to drive.

ahhh, thats one of the things I don't have. Is there any options for that other little slot. I've always wondered what some of the spots where little plates like that pop out hold.....Does someting go in the slot directly right of the steering colum? And what about that little cubby on the left by the clutch cancel switch?

Thanks for the kind words guys. I was really surprised to find a runner this clean on the ec, and thats kinda why I jumped on it. I was working hard on it for a month and was making great, but then started working close to 60 hrs a week all summer and fall and then had to head back to school and I've kinda lost my motivation.

On a totally unrelated note, saw this pic on the seattletimes website today. Almost lost a good FJ from that flood!

The Cruise Control switch goes in the slot to the right of the column. I dunno what the cubby is for (it's pretty useless as anything that I put in there falls out when I hop out into traffic ).

Nice Runner though and good luck on the sale! As much as I like my truck I kinda wish it had been decked out like that one... Oh well, too late now!

Yep still for sale. Please e-mail skitrev33@hotmail.com with any questions/pic requests. I'm still trying to get the time to take some pics of the engine/frame/underneath. School has been ultra busy.

Thanks again on the kind words guys. I was really surprised to find a runner that was as optioned out as this one is, let alone had all the options working.

Up on stands from when I had the time to work on it and was taking off the old calipers and getting ready to put on the new ones. Thats kind of where things stopped. Brand new in box fully loaded calipers and new master cylinder come with truck.

Listing truck on autotrader and in the local papers. Will consider all offers on truck. Need to move!!! Lowballers welcome, doesn't hurt to ask right?

Anyone have any other suggestions as to where I might be able to list to get some hits?
