Hello, I just bought my son an 88 4x4. We were going to replace the wheels but have since been told that the ones on the truck are pretty desirable. Does anyone happen to know anything about them? Thanks

 

I have not seen those before and not sure of them. One provider of wheels for Toyota was Enkei. http://enkei.com/ I would search there site or maybe a history of them. Might try seeing if there is that name on the back side of the rim maybe.

 

They remind me of the wheels off the general Lee from dukes of hazard

 

I bought an '88 4Runner new in '88 and a friend bought an '88 pickup and I was there for the sale. Those were not an option. They remind me of a wheel I've seen on Jeep Wagoneer but I think those are 5 lug. You should see a manufacturer stamped on the rear side of the wheel. I prefer the factory aluminum or Outlaw II's shown below.

 

i like those wheels, but without knowing the measurements, it's going to be difficult to predict how applicable they will be.

they are probably 15" wheels? limited tire selection in that size, 17" is the best for tire availability, but 15" tires are usually cheaper... 15" wheels can limit your brake caliper upgrades, because some of 'em don't clear the later and bigger calipers.

 

As mentioned above they are most likely Jeep "turbine" wheels. There were 6 lug Grand Wagoneers with them.

 

There are wheels like that on eBay today for $1200 a set, reported as vintage from 1975.
There's also wheels that look just like em for $400 a set. (Search hurricanes or turbines in wheels.)
So value is subjective. But I have seen them on 80s Toyotas often enough and I like them. Dealers would put on anything that fit on a base model truck if it would get them a sale.
