In my opinion, it depends on what you want to get out of the tires. If you are going to be driving on the street most of the time and not offroading much, you may want to lean toward the ATZ because the treadblocks are closer together which traditionally results in quieter ride, better gas mileage and longer treadlife. If you are gonna go into the woods on a regular basis and want more traction, especially if you live in a wet area where mud is going to be a common encounter, the MTZ will probably get you farther.

Now if you are just going for rugged good looks and don't care about mileage and treadlife, love the sound of mud terrain on the street, and just like the idea of being able to point your truck offroad and knowing that you will be okay if you run into a little mudhole, I would go with the MTZ's.

I am a huge mudder fan, and don't particularly care about either mileage or treadlife (I have 38" swampers on a '72 bronco, and had MT's on my 3rd gen for a while), and I love getting out in the woods at every opportunity I get, which these days is very limited. But when I had the MT's on my runner, it was very comforting just knowing that if and when I wanted to, I could head out into the rough stuff and it would be harder to get in over my head.

Hope this helps, and good luck. Post pics when you decide!

I run the atz on my t100. I love them. have had them for a couple of years and they still look like new. they are a good all terrain tire. I would recomend them to anybody. I'm sure the mtz is just as good. It all depends on how agressive you wan to go.

Get the ATZ's and search the tire & wheels section. There's about 35 threads on the same subject. Moved.

Look at the Cooper ATR for semi agressive street or STT for more Off-Road.
I've gotten great mileage on my ATR's and will be going to the STT next.

I got a steal on the ATZ in 265/75/16 and in my opinion you wouldn't know they weren't MT by the way they perform in the slick stuff.
