want to verify proper bs for 285/75 trxus'

i am sold on the pro comp rock crawler series 97 wheels. and i am getting the 285/75/16 trxus tires. i have the 2.5" front spacer lift and ome891 rear coil lift. i i don't have fender flares, and don't want them on my truck. is the 3.75" bs on the 16x8 wheels too much? i don't want any rubbing with the tires, and i want to keep eveything as tucked as possible. i wheel this thing, so i am keeping that in mind. so what do you suggest for a 98 4runner 4x4? 3.75" or 4.25" backspacing?

searching showed about 2 posts that actually were close, but this is more of a final check and to make it known that i AM concerned about full stuff rubbing from off-road use.

thanks!

OEM bs on rims for a 3rd gen is 4.375" I believe...so I'd say 4.25". Seems like that is what my black steelies were.

i just don't want any chance of rubbing the upper arm.

like i suppose i could go for the compromise of 4.0" bs too, but i want things are far in as possible. the trxus runs at 33x10.5", so they are a little more narrow than the traditional 33x12.5", which should help.

anyone else have the 3rd gen that wishes to chime in? and thank you waskilly. i appreciate your input.

I think 4" would fill your fenders out nicely without standing out too much, but it would keep the inside of the tires off the upper a arm.
Punkigor runs 33x10.5's on stock alloys without rubbing the a arms on his Taco, but I think moving to the 4" would push them to the outer edge of the fender without going as far as mine or Erics for example.
