interesting

I was curious if my spare was made in 98 or 88 so i looked into it further. if the 3 digit code has a triangle after it it's 1990, if not its 1980's.

my mud rovers are 3805 and my spare was made in 1998. My Dunlop Mudrovers were litereally made like a month before I bought them from Discount Tire, thats kinda cool.

38th week of 2005.

"267" would be 26th week of 1997.

My new meats were installed 7-31-2007.
The code on all five tires says 0207 , so that would be the second week of 2007.

So they were around seven months old when I got them.
Les Schwab had them brought into their shop from another Les Schwab warehouse.

So if they should be replaced in five years, that will put them out to January of 2012.
That is if they last that long.

I should check my other set of identical meats that are sized stock and with my factory rims.

They were installed September of 2006.
I was going to run them last winter to save wear and tear on my nice rims I have now, but the new rims stood up to winter better than any previous wheel I have ever owned.

my tow rig's tires are dated 154, so that makes them 14 years old!

Question

ooo 2701, that's bad. and I can't figure out how to upload the pic of my door jamb sticker(plate) for someone to decode. I don't see tire sizes. I must be having a slow night but it says:
4600/2086
FRT 2630/1192 with HR78-15(B) tires
15x6 JJ Rims at 24 psi/165 kpa cold
RR 3000/1360 with HR 78-15 (B) tires
15x6 Rims at 32 psi/220 kpa cold
The rest of it says vehicle in compliance on date, made by Toyota, blah blah blah
?

haven't checked the dates on my current tires, but i know i had a set of michelins on the 90 i used to own that were great tires, and probably would have gone 60k+ miles, but after about 4yrs they started to really harden up and sucked on wet pavement. Scary actually. I'm completely sold on replacing tires even if they have tons of tread left, they are really the most important part of the car.

The tire size is HR 78-15 (old vehicle tire size) Any tire store can tell you the metric equiv.

Same size as the OE spare for my 71 cruiser

Should be a 225/75-15 IIRC.
