I'm also a user of a snow plowing forum (lol I know crazy right) and a lot of the guys on there that run their trucks a lot of miles in all conditions say they're great and last a long time.......if you get a lot of snow or they are the primary snow tires get the winter ones......I forget they call it green tread or something......but what it is is crushed walnut shells in the rubber and it wears with the rubber and keeps a good biting edge for ice........from what I hear it works awesome and lasts for a while and these guys use their trucks for this so I'd think they go through a few tires and know what works....know what I mean?......I'm gonna get a set next time I need 'em

Ding dong bring out your dead. Keeping an old thread alive I run treadwright guard dogs and will be buying another set whenever I manage to wear these . They are awesome in the snow and ice and wear and ride exceptionly well, I have bfg carcasses, but like any wide tire it likes to plane on top of heavy slush losing contact with the road and when your hauling ass it ca n get interesting, but being from Colorado it's just practice for boating season and it scares the California transplants ha ha.

Just mounted the Guard Dogs today (BFG carcasses). TreadWright customer service was excellent and I had no problems balancing them. So far so good.

I just order a set of four 315/75/16 with the "Kedge Grip" the crushed walnut and glass in the tread... The tires were backordered but arrived much quicker than the quoted ship date. This size tire does not have the manufacturer warranty as TreadWright's policy is this size is mostly used for offroad and it doesn't make financial sense to warranty this size. Customer service was great I placed my order on a Sunday morning around 10am central time. The tires arrived and look great. WalMart mounted them for $12/tire. That included taking off the old tires as well. They mounted fine with no major issues. They are currently on a 98 4runner with a Sonoran Steel 7.2 (3") suspension lift with the shaved control arms and a 1" body lift. While I have less than 100 miles on mine a friend also purchased the guard dogs early this summer and has only had one issue and TreadWright sent a new tire free of charge no questions.
