Been their and done that. But bought the A/T's off craigslist. 9.5" width gas mileage was better but hated the wet traction action of these big name A/T's. Notice I haven't mentioned a brand name, my gosh ppl can get upset when you talk about there tires. LOL.

yea, running M/Ts isn't really the cheap option. Good luck with whatever tire you choose. I have been considering buying a commuting set, but I think these will last me until I SAS. Saving up ^^. Moving to 33s at that time, so might as well wear the 31s out.

Makes sense to buy some 31-10.50 A/T's for street, because they're cheaper, wear better, and will save you on gas over 33's. Save the 33's for wheeling. Could work. I've thought about doing that too.

The only mud terrains that I can personally vouch for aren't on your list. I've got 33-12.50 M/T Dunlop Mud Rover's. I've put around 11,000 miles on them, and they've still got quite a bit of tread left, and wear well. They are also very good in the mud.

I might go with some 31's, or even some cheap H/T's for the summer, so I can save gas, when the mud drys up...

My Dunlops cost around the same as the tires in your list.

I drive ALOT. I wont deny that. sometimes I just drive around aimlessly becaus I love hearing the sound of my truck. but uhh. I think I might either go with the KM2, Baja claw radials, or the STTs from cooper. I read online that its an amazing Off road tire as well as on road. the Kumho KL71 has the same characteristics. I read this section on all the tire I selected, and also read up on the KL71s and STTs, of all I picked they're the only ones that said they were good ON ROAD worthy.

Plus the Cooper Discoverer STTs are only 187.10. Also Pep boys has a tire program that you buy 3 tires, get one free. thats only 561 for a set of well reputable MTs... Cant complain about that price.

KM2s look the best IMO. My next set of tires is gonna be the STTs though. Ive read a lot of good things about them...ie. Long tread life which is crutial for people like us that drive too much.

I wouldn't sa the KM2s are the BEST looking. I'd say the Baja claw radials are. but then again, KM2s are the most reputable and everyone gets them. I'm really considering the STTs. for 561 for a set, I cant pass that up on a tire that is said to be a good on/off road tire. combined with tire rotations every 3-5k this tire should last me easily 40k miles or more.

i've got a buddy with STTs on a heep and he's got like 60k on them and they still have well over 1/4" of tread left. they seem to have lasted him quite a while without any problems. they do look pretty sweet. the tread is pretty tight like Toyos are which is probably why they last so long, but tradeoff is lack of traction in some situations.

i just got some GY DuraTracs for our hundy because it is a DD and needs to be able to throw down offroad. They're on oe the most aggressive ATs out there. i wouldn't be surprised if the next model of them includes kevlar like the MTRs, which I would take as well. I'm all about the included tight tread pattern in the center - seems it would make them last a little longer and provide traction in a variety of situations.

Well I know that they are not on the list but I would look into a less ratical M/t like the BigO X/T Big Foot tires. They make almost no noize and are good on and off road. I got them because they were cheap, and because they came with a free repare or replace warenty. They are the A/T of mud terrains, check them out.

I have the geolander m/t's and like them. they have vary good street manners and good ware. I use them as a DD and i still have two more years of use out of them, Ive already had them for two yrears. from the off roading i have done they do work well but I have not had all that many chances to go wheeling with them. I also have no experience with the other tires listed. they are cheep and i get all my tires from tirerack.com, No sales tax.

here is the pricing for the km2's

I am tempted to try the km2 for my new spare

MaK92 keep in mind that Dick Cepek mud country is a Cooper tire.Ive got a cheap Cooper set on my 90 Runner and they are most excellent for daily driving, smooth, good traction and a nice little hum at 80mph.I decided 2 months ago my next set will be Cooper/Dick Cepek mud country(31s).Just make sure you dont buy a soft tire, one that rolls/folds easily on pavement. Its not an easy choice deciding on your next tire.Your eyeballs want whats cool, your wallet wants whats cheap and then your common sense tells you to not over look safety and reputation.

I agree 100%. I've read up on alot of the Cooper Discoverer STTs. Some people say they get 60k, some people say they get 20k. Honestly. I think I could push out close to 40k before I buy my next set, which is perfect for me. thats 3-4 years depends on my driving and how much I drive. I think i've made the right decision on the STTs though. for 561 I really wanna try them out. So i'll give them a test. and see how they go. Im gonna rotate them every oil change if i can.

K so, I went driving around to Pep boys and other tire dealers, I could not find anyone that would order the STTs. Pep boys is a major distributer of Coopers tires and they wouldn't even order them. So i guess I'm gonna scratch those tires, unless someone in california can tell me where to get them. otherwise my next choice is going to be the Kumho KL71s. whatcha think?

They're gonna run me about 800 bucks... not too bad right?

There's a few tire shops around here that'll sell em to ya. But that's only if you're willing to drive 350+ miles roundtrip to get them. I'd call them first. There's a place in Lakeport called Carlton Tire. I was looking at buying some STT's from them, but I went with the Dunlops because they wear better, and had better reviews......and they apparently really like them because I saved $300 getting the Dunlops over the Coopers.
