Same Price So Which One - BFG or Dueler
OK, tire shop down the street is havig a blow-out sale (ha! no pun intended). As a result, both the BFG AT and Bridgestone Deuler AT Revos with UNI-T are going for $110 per tire. So, which one.
yes, I have searched the forum far & wide and I have read tons of posts concerning the great tire debate - but none address the delima from the "same price" aspect.
so, if you could get either tire for $110, which one would it be & why?
thx,
mr

BFG's. I'm on my second set of AT's (32's). They have been very durable, not noisy, decent off road (when it's not really soupy) and good mileage (40-50K miles). I was considering MTR's for a change, but I've been hearing they wear out at a max of 35K. I may go for BFG MT's or another set of BFG AT's when it's time.

BFGs......BFGs......BFGs
Go with the BFG's. You'll be happy. They go good in the snow, the rain, the trails, minor mud. Like Cebby said. They'll pack up in the mud but all A/t's do. I'm not sure what bridgstone is like since I never had a set. THe only thing about them that scares me is the fact that they own Firestone. I've had the Firestoners and never had any luck with any of them. For a car or a truck.

I run BFG's on my Runner and ran BFG's on my Taco and never had problem. I put the BFG's on my Taco after 500 miles and they lasted for 55k before I traded it in and there was atleast 5-10k more remaining on them. So I guess you know how I vote.

I bought the Dueler's based on price ($100vs$150). So far, they haven't let me down. I don't play in deep mud, but the trails around here are a combination of rocks (soccerball size and smaller), clay, and shallow (<6") mud. We've had more snow this winter than any winter I can recall (I'm 30). The only time I had problems with traction was when the snow was 24" deep and I started plowing. Overall, they've performed as well as I could hope. On pavement, they're quiet and handle well enough for an AT tire. After 20k miles, they look almost new.
I don't think you can go wrong either way. For what it's worth, the BFG's look better and probably work better (based on online opinions), but neither is a slouch.

thanks
Well, thanks for all that have responded. It looks like I will be blowing some big cash tomottow (monday) for a new set of BFG 265/75r 16s.
But, should anyone else have the time & since I won't be making the purchase until after about 3p.m., keep the opinions/pros/comns coming until then.
Thx & this board is great!

So you're getting the A/T's right? I am debating...the dealer that I am getting (should be pickin the rig up tomorrow) just put on some SEMI used BFG A/T's, probably 3 or 4k miles on em so far...but I would like something a little more aggressive looking...I am not sure whether I should blow my money on some M/T's and some new wheels (they'll definately be black if I do!) or wait a while until I can get up some more cash and invest in them more safely. Right now I would barely have enough cash to fund the entire set (4 BFG M/T's and 4 wheels). I think I will probably leave the wheels alone for now.
I have some other stuff I need to do the rig before I can invest too much more money is other things...tires included.
But you are definately making the right choice Matt...BFG's are the way to go!
