replacing stock tires

Hello, I'm looking at purchasing a new taco when my '99 is finished the buyback process in a few weeks. I have 265/75 r15s which I think look better and work better in the snow than the 225/75 15s that was stock that year. The 09 and 10 models come stock w/ 245/75 r16 which I think look too small, esp. considering the larger size of the 2nd gen. If I replace them w/ larger tires, how large can I go w/o worrying about rubbing issues, speedometer issues, etc? I notice the TRD off road pkg gives you 265/70, so one would assume you could put these on a non-trd offroad truck as well? Any insight? Thanks!
