nitto tires

whats up fellas.
i was just wondering if anybody knows how the nitto mud grappler tires are. they lood aggresive. they kinda of look like a thornturd in my opinion, so that was kind of a concern. i would be doing trail running at places like hungry valley in gorman. on road handling is not a concern at all. thanks for your help.

looks like it's going to be a show tire, mainly because the only size it's made in is 37x18. if you want a pure offroad tire, why not just run swamper sx or iroks?

Like a Thornbird?

Yeah, those cheesy looking side lugs that stick out a couple inches past the tire are really apparent to me on the Grappler.

If they perform anything like the Thornbird in the mud, you better hang your hat up. Thornbirds are horrible in the mud. The tread will not clean itself off and it's like riding around with slick tires. If it's just for show go with it, if you want to use them off-road I would stay away.

I don't know how good Nitto is for 4x4 truck's (actually it's the first time I've heard of Nitto's for a truck) but I used to have them on my 2nd gen MX-6 LS, and with all the suspention mods possible, I couldn't stand my Nitto 450's, my old cheap tires gripped the road a lot better when it came to launching and hard cornering.

So from that experience I would not reccomend Nitto.

I got them

Well I have had mine for a while now almost a year but mine are not the Mud ones so not sure about how well they perform, I can say for the money I spent for them compared to the orginal ones (Goodyears) I'm happy with them, I do most of my driving on pavment and on occasion in the sand with no problems have not had a need to test them in mud yet but would guess they would do well. Noise levels are great for how aggressive the tire looks and rides smooth.
You can look at them here got a few shoots in the album plus in the others.
