Mojo?
How do you think they perform in the Mud for and M/T?
I really like look...
I was thinking BFG M/T's cause they to are a long lasting tire but you seem to be having good luck with yours
Do you think they would fit unter a stock rig?

Where did you pick them up at? It appears no one close to home here carries the Maxxis tires, and the website only lists the creepy crawlers for online shopping... Also, mind if I inquire about pricing when you got yours?

Not sure on their mud performance - I steer clear of deep mud when I can. Playin in the mud is fun at the time but the clean up is a pain in the arse. I imagine they are like any mainstream MT - which is fair but not great. As far as fitting on a stock rig - I guess that depends on what size tire you get.

I got them from my local Big O tire - he ordered them in (actually he's the one that suggested them to me in the 1st place) He is also a friend and I think he cut me a deal on them - so not sure about price - I think they were around $150 or $160 a tire.

Oh, and I have close to 20K on them now.

Great review. This has put me over the top. I'm getting some 265/75r16s Bighorns. I've had an OME lift on my 04 Tacoma for almost a year now.. I'm really ready to get these cra**y BFG rugged trails off(no offense to anyone else with them).

Bottom line? These Maxxis tires are just better than the Cooper STTs AND they cost less. I've seen some year old Coopers and they looked horrible - the tread and the sidewalls had turned different colors already.

Better? I would rather have my STTs 3 ply sidewalls, than the 2 ply. No discoloration after 7 months, not that color is indicative of function. Looks like a decent economy alternative though.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend your tire choice. It is a pretty good tire.

The Bighorn 265/75 8/D ply tire does have 3 ply sidewalls, by the way. I just confirmed with Maxxis customer service that this size and ply tire does have "MTS".

anybody run these in snow? ice? rocks? I would like to upgrade my tires to something that can handle the thick clay mud, snow, ice, and sharp lava rocks we have in my neck of the country.

I'll let you all know after I get a chance to test mine out. They are a damn aggressive tire though, especially for a MT that comes from the factory with siping.

Ok, I've had a chance to compare these tires side by side and the only thing I could find that looks a little similar is the functional tread on the sidewall. The spacing of the lugs is farther apart on the Bighorns then the MTRs.. Overall a more aggressive tire.

My buddy has a Jeep TJ and had a little of trouble with his Cooper STT's.. he didn't get stuck, but he had a tough time.

Time to bring back an old thread. I'm needing tires pretty badly and am thinking about the bighorns. What kinda mileage are you guys seeing/expect to be seeing out of these? And any other thoughts.

They have gotten a little louder as they have worn down but it's not bad in my opinion. I do have a vibration at about 60mph - but there are a lot of other factors that go into that besides just the tires. I think they just need to be rebalanced. As it's going I suspect I'll get about 40K miles out of them.
